"What does she mean by that?" Lauryn asked and looked at China.

"Well, our 4-month checkup is today, and I'm going to be at work." China said and shifted her weight on her foot.

"Fucking asshole." I muttered, but I'm certain China heard me from her facial expression.

"Jenna, I'm sorry. Okay." I won't go if you don't want me to." China said, and I rolled my eyes.

"What I want is to not see your face for a few hours, so go to work." I said that and walked back over to the bed.

"Guys, will you stop before one of you says something you regret?" Lauryn said she was almost pleading, but she could see that I was not happy with China at all.

"You are right; I'm going to just leave." China said, shook her head, and walked towards the door.

"Good. I couldn't stand to look at you for a second longer." I screamed after China as she walked out the door. Lauryn stood there, looking confused and honestly hurt. I heard the front door slam behind China as she exited.

"Jenna, you don't mean anything you just said, do you?" Lauryn asked me and set herself on the bed beside me.

"Why does she have to go to work?" Are me and the baby not important to her or something?" I said it, but in an angry tone.

"Sis-in-law, maybe you should just lay down and rest. All this stress isn't good for my niece or nephew." Lauryn said and motioned for me to lay back on the bed. I obliged, mainly because I was tired from yelling at China. As I lay back, Lou placed my cover back over me, and I held on to the stuffed animal China had bought me not too long ago.

"Ok. This feels better, but can you turn on The Addams Family?" I said this as I snuggled into the covers. Lou chuckled and grabbed the remote from the end of the bed.

"Now, how about we both just lay here and get some rest?" Lou said after turning the TV to what I wanted.

"Fine. But I am not promising I am going to fall asleep." I said that and shifted on the bed to be comfortable.

"Just close your eyes and relax, Jenna. The sleep will happen regardless. Then I will wake you up for your appointment, which is at what time?" Lou said that and got on the other side of the bed. This is a rule the whole McClain family has made up: never leave Jenna by herself.

"2:30," I said, and I let out a yawn. Maybe I was tired or something.

"Ok. It's only 8:30, so just relax." Lauryn said, and she was yawning herself. "And Jenna."

"Hmm?" I said I was slowly falling asleep.

"Forgive China. Life is too short." Lauryn said, and to that one I had no response. I decided to pretend that I was asleep. Lauryn eventually did fall asleep beside me, but I was still awake, and the only thing on my mind was China. She can be an asshole, but I really do love her to pieces.

"I have to go see her." I whispered to myself and looked at the clock. It was officially 9:55, and that gave me plenty of time. I snuck out of bed and went to grab some clothes. China and Lauryn would both freak out if they knew what I was doing. As I slid into my clothes, I made sure Lauryn was still asleep, and when I saw she was, I grabbed my shoes and headed downstairs.

"They are going to kill me." I said to myself as I quickly snuck out of the house and into my car. China swears she hides these keys, but I always manage to find them. As I was driving, I decided to listen to music as I made my way to China. Yes, I have all the intentions of pulling the I need to see my wife card. On the way to my destination, I noticed that traffic was really backed up, and I got aggravated because I just wanted to talk to China. After about 5 minutes, traffic slowly started to move forward, but when I made it to the interruption, my heart sank to my ass. I saw a car that looked just like China's wrecked on the side of the road. It had literally been on fire. I didn't see anybody in the car, so I decided that it was a coincidence and kept driving to the set she was on.

"Calm down, Jenna." I said to myself as I felt myself start to hyperventilate from worry and stress. I eventually had to pull over into the nearest business just to catch my breath. Once I did make it, I ran onto the set looking for China. I managed to run into the producer, so I asked.

"Have you seen my wife?" I asked panickingly, and he looked at me confused.

"Your wife never showed up. I thought she stayed home or something." He said that, and I automatically felt like I was going to faint.

"What do you mean?" I literally watched her leave for work. She should have been here." I said high-pitched and terrified. On cue, my phone started ringing, and I saw the number and was terrified to answer. This is not the time for suspense.

"Hello?" I said it, trying not to sound panicked.

"Yes, hello, Mrs. Oretga-McClain; this is Cassandra from the Gray Point Hospital." Your wife was in an accident, and I think you should come to the hospital immediately." A voice said, and I fucking stopped breathing.

"NO NO NO! Is she okay?" I asked, running towards the exit. Fuck that conversation with the producer.

"We really don't know yet, but if you could get here as soon as possible," The lady said that, and I just hung up the phone and called Lauryn. The shock she received when I was calling her phone and not lying beside her

"Jenna. What the fuck? I thought you were..." Lauryn said, but before she could finish the sentence, I broke down crying.

"Lauryn, you have to get to the hospital. China never made it work. It is my fault. I was yelling and screaming and being a bitch." I screamed, and at that point, Lauryn was silent.

"What?" She said she was not believing what I just said.

"Get to the hospital now and call mom. China is hurt." I said, and my emotions were so high that I knew if I drove my car at this moment, that would end tragically. I sat in my car as I felt my hyperventilating getting worse and worse. I felt my throat closing, and I couldn't breathe. I felt a sharp pain in my stomach that made me scream loudly.

"Jenna, you have to calm down." I said to myself and rubbed my baby belly to try to calm myself. I had to get myself to the hospital quickly. As I felt better, I went to the hospital. I was going so fast that I was starting to feel car sick from my own driving. I made it to the hospital, but that was as far as I could get, as I felt myself pass out while sitting in the parking lot. One minute there was light, and then pure darkness.
