"Let's go." I tell Ellis, dragging our suitcases to the taxi waiting to bring us to the airport.

"Why can't we go to bed first?" She pouts. It's four in the morning, the only available flight that would get us to Spa-Francorchamps in time for the GP. The Grand Prix we had jokingly agreed to come to after the Bern concert. We were drunk then, when Max asked us. Daring me and Martin, who we had on facetime, to go and watch the race on his grand stand.

We were drunk then, probably intoxicated now, as we came straight from a cocktail bar where we did our after concert celebrations. "Because we need to go to Belgium." I state, as I watch the driver put our suitcases in the trunk.

"Right. To see your boyfriend." She slurs, the alcohol we consumed evident in her voice.

"We're not dating." It's the honest and complete truth. Lando had told me he'd wanted us to try again. Try everything again but without going public instantly. However, I wasn't convinced yet. I was scared to try, as I didn't want to feel the pressure again. But I did make him a promise. I promised him that I would try to get ready, get ready to try again.

I wasn't sure when I would reach that point though. It could be tomorrow, it could be a year from now, it could never happen. But I did feel that I care for him deeply, and I wanted him in my life. So we did just that. We talked a lot again. The daily face time calls we had last year, returned. We would text each other whenever we felt like it. And the best thing of it all was it felt unforced. It felt natural.

We even decided to spend some time together next week, when I'm in England. It won't be hard to do so, as I'm spending some time at Quadrant too. We'll definitely see each other, even if we don't agree on a day to hang out.

But now we were redeeming a promise to one Max Verstappen. One in which Martin Garrix and I would watch from the grandstand. It was mostly some promotional stuff for Max his socials, and I do it the utmost pleasure. Yet I do feel a little anxious being in such a big crowd. Mostly filled with my fellow Dutchmen.

The plane ride to the Belgian Grand Prix went smooth, before we had realized we had touched down in the small country. Both Ellis and I trying to rid ourselves from the alcohol in our bodies by sleeping through the whole flight.

The car ride from the airport to the circuit went just as smooth, no traffic jams we got into. Mostly due to the escort Max had arranged for the two of us.

And then came the arrival to the so familiar paddock, the same one I hadn't been at for a while. Cameras were snapping as we swiped out passes and went through the turnstiles. The both of us walked through the paddock, our heads held high as we made our way to the Red Bull garage.

People were gonna have a field day with my appearance in the paddock and for once I thought they should have it. The Red Bull garage is the first one you pass, so it wasn't that far of a walk. But I couldn't help and watch a bit further ahead. To the familiar orange themed garage, the one I felt so at home at. Maybe I will see him today.

"Good morning, ladies." Daniel chimes as we enter the Red Bull hospitality, hoping to find Max there but I don't see him.

"Morning Daniel." I chime, hoping not to make it to obvious that we had been drinking before we came here.

"So you're actually here to redeem yourselves for Max's bet?" He chuckles as he walks us to the small bar so we can get some drinks.

"Yeah, I don't back down on things I promise." I tell him, while asking the woman behind the bar for two bottles of water. One for Ellis and one for myself, hoping we can get sobered up. Well as much as we can, before we enter the grandstand. On which I can imagine we would be consuming some more alcoholic drinks.
