Waking Up

Last time in I was reborn in demon slayer as an Uchiha

"I will try my best to find them, but…where do they live," I said realizing I don't know anything about where the Kamado are at.
"You are a good kid, they live in Okutama town."He said

"If you can promise me anything just stay the way that you are, don't change in the slightest, stay the beacon of light in the light, make sure to never lose your smile, don't change yourself for someone else in be yourself," Yoriichi said with a smile on his face.
"Thank you very much it means a lot to me," I said as tears started to flow down from my eyes.

Now we continue where we left off

"Your potential is being held back because you don't want to get much stronger than your brother, you are a gentle person you don't wish to hurt others," Yoriichi said patting me on the head.

I didn't deny what he said, I just looked down a bit ashamed" I know you don't want to hurt any living beings, in you try your best to make sure the demon you kill dies a painless death, but if you want to kill that man you going to have to shut those feeling down when you fighting him" He said slowly caressing the back of my head.

"If you don't want the people you care about to die because of your mistakes, don't make the same mistake I made," He said in a fatherly voice
"I'm going to try," I said with tears coming down my eyes

"You see what happens when you hold back, people you care about get hurt," He said in a solemn voice
"I know," I said fresh memory of what happen flashing inside my head.

"Kanae got hurt because I wanted to see if they had a redeemable quality at all" I muttered
"Even when you went all out, when you realize that they were once human you hesitated," He said to me

"You would of won the fight if the demons didn't weaken your mental fortitude," he said in a solemn  tone
"What do you mean by that," I said confused
"You kept thinking about how to save the civilians the whole fight, in when they started to die because of your fight with the moons, you started to feel guilty that you couldn't save them," He said with eyes full of emotion but to a normal person he looks to have no emotions while saying that

"Why those my mental health have to do with any of this," I said
"If you are fighting with your mental health being very low, you are not fighting at 100%, but only at a fraction of what you are truly capable of," He said

"Give me an example," I said
"You were struggling against the moons when they first started to attack you but later on, when you were heavily injured, you were beating them with no real difficulty, the only reason they survive it's on how tricky it was to kill them when they all were attacking you," He said

"Now that you mention it" I mutter
"You want to protect everyone in you constantly strain yourself trying to do that, whatever you did the night before the fight helped you a lot considering usually you would have forgotten about the two slayers you were with in favor of saving everyone."He said

"...."I stayed quiet because there is no way I'm telling him that.
"We don't have that much time left so if you have any questions ask away," He said with a smile
"Are there any good demons out there?" I asked
"There is one her name is Tamayo," he said

"Also remember this Atoru, no matter how much you train, you will never get that much stronger if your mental health is low," He said with a smile on his face as he started to disappear
"Where are you going, I have so many unanswered questions," I said watching him disappear

He just smiles at me I try to grab him.

I suddenly open my eyes to see a familiar roof, I try to move but my body hurt like hell, I was bandaged up like crazy.

I try to get into a sitting position, but I noticed that I still had my jacket on. I looked around at Shinobu sitting on the floor and resting on her knee like she had been there for a while. She slowly raised her head before noticing I was awake.

"Hi how have..."I try to speak before she jumps on me in started to cry on me." you back" She said in between tears.
"I'm sorry I worried you," I said trying to cheer her up

"You idiot you don't know how worried I was about you while you were unconscious," She said
"I couldn't be out for that long," I said
"No, you were out cold for two months," She said
"2months," I said realizing how long that is

Some tears were leaving her eyes, she was clearly worried about my well-being, I try to console her by reaching out to her hair in slowly caressing it.

"I don't want to make you cry again," I said as I hug her.
She just held my hand her cheeks as some tears were leaving her eyes.
"You promised," She said with hope in her voice
"I promise that I will not make you cry again," I said

She had a smile on her face as she wipe the tears away from her face,
"Where is my kiss at," I said with a smile on my face
She looked away from me, pouting in blushing.
I smile a bit knowing that Shinobu didn't change that much.

I try to stand up but I felt pain all over my body"oh it hurt"i said slowly standing up
"Don't overdo it" Shinobu said with worried present in her voice.
I feel different, a lot different than before,

I finally stood up, feeling very sore." it's going to take more than that to take me down," I said a bit weakly
"You can barely stand up why are you forcing yourself to stand," She said
"I don't like making people worry about me too much," I said weakly walking toward the door.

A/N to be most fanfic that I read do not really develop the relationship between the mc and a love interest(s)  so I'm trying to improve it as realistically as possible without interfering too much with the plot
