Chapter 6. Alive

"Neteyam?"

Neteyam's pov

I'm so tired, I don't feel like I can go on, I guess not walking for weeks messes up your legs. I reach out towards the voice, I could tell it was a woman, assuming it was Kiri by the softness in her voice "..please..." I fell over onto the sand, holding my side where I had managed to bust open stitches that I thought where healed, I was weak and dependent on another person and I hated it. I don't want to have to ask her for help but I need it

She slowly crouched down next to me, putting her hands onto my side where I was bleeding, like pissing blood out of

"Shh Teytey, it's okay I'm gonna get you help" she said, urgency in her voice but somehow she kept it soft and calm. How she used to speak to me when we where kids

I put my hand on her wrist, smiling at her. I'm so happy I get to see her smile again, atleast one last time

"Teyam I need you to stay awake please" she said, taking off her shawl and tying it around my waist to stop the bleeding. I frowned, knowing that was her favorite shawl as Violet made it for her, it was a beautiful gold and white color and was extremely flowey, violet said it was a silk shawl and one of her favorites to make. Although it was white and gold it was now red. I knew it was ruined and that made me upset

"Kiri...go get som-one I-'ll be fine" I said, putting my own hands over the shawl as she nodded and quickly ran off

Kiri's pov

I ran, I couldn't believe it, my brother was alive after weeks of basically being dead that bitch

I can't believe he made us worry like that but atleast he was alive, or he won't be if I don't hurry the fuck up. I tried to run as fast as I can, basically being covered in blood it most likely looked as if I had been injured. I ran to my mother and father who where talking. They where just about to go get Neteyam So we could send him off to his next journey

I grabbed their arms, getting blood on them "mama! Papa! Come quick" I panted, out of breath

My mother looked at me as she put her hands on my face "my sweet Kiri are you okay?! What injured you?! Where are you hurt??" She said, scanning my body for cuts

Everyone had now looked over, seeing me covered in blood lo'ak rushed over with Tsireya "Oh Kiri please don't tell me you hurt yourself again!" Reya said, tears flooding her face as she grabbed my arms and looked over them, lo'ak doing the same with my legs

My father kissing my forehead "Shh its okay baby girl" my father said looking up and too Ronal "heal my child please!"

People where surrounding me, I was overwhelmed
"No no it's not me please!" But no one should listen
"Please come quick!" I said
No one was listening to me and I knew Neteyam's life was on a clock and it was close to being out

So I ripped myself from their grip and ran, knowing they would follow me, tears in my eyes "Baby wait!" Dad called, running after me as mama and everyone else followed. I had to run quick as I knew dad and lo'ak where faster then me so I ran and ran as fast as my legs would take me

And I stopped when I saw neteyam, kneeling down next to him putting pressure over his hands to help "it's okay big bro, I got help" I said, smiling as tears ran down my face

He moved his hands and wiped my tears, getting blood on my face but that didn't matter "thank you sister" he said

Father and mother running to him, dad shoving me out of the way and picking him up. I fell to the floor and groaned as my head hit the ground. Tsireya immediately coming to my aid as Lo'ak and Ao'nung ran off with my parents and Ronal back to the medic hut

Tsireya moved the hair out of my face, kissing my forehead. Not sure why but it's a thing she started doing, she said she saw me as a younger sister and would treat me as such so she did

She wiped the blood and tears off my face "come sister, let's get you cleaned up" she said, helping me up and walking me to her family's pod

She helped me clean the blood off myself and even gave me some of her clothes to wear. She unwrapped my arms and legs and rewrapped them for me as well, I couldn't ask for a better future sister-in-law. Then we went back outside and sat on a rock near the water "he'll be fine kitty" she said, she called me kitty cuz she used to think that was my name by the way my parents said it, I never stopped her as she knows my name but still calls me that

I nodded, looking towards the water, it was beautiful, all glowing where you could see the animal's swimming perfectly "I know, I'm just worried" I said, throwing a rock which I managed to skip three times before it sunk

"You did the right thing, I'm sorry none of us listened to you" she said, doing the same although hers didn't skip

"I know you guys where only worried about me, I understand" I scratched my arms, seeing the bandages and regretting ever doing such a think to myself again after no doing it for so long

Ao'nung's pov

I watched as they worked on him, Neytiri was sitting to the side holding his hand and Jake was watching from afar. I winced everytime he made any noise of pain as my mother cleaned out his wound, all I wanted to do was take the pain from him

They got his side cleaned and stitched back up, my mother ushered me and everyone who was watching out so Lo'ak and his parents could have some time with him

I walked along the beach, kicking the sand until I saw my sister and Kiri, I walked up to them smiling as I saw Kiri was cleaned up and looked a little happier, although she still looked sick like she hadn't slept in months. I patted her back "he's okay, your parents and lo'ak are spending some time with him if you want to go" I said, she smiled and got up, hugging me, not sure why but I didn't complain and hugged her back "you did a good thing, you're brothers alive because of you" I said, she smiled and wiped the tears from her eyes as she walked off

I sat next to Tsireya, putting my hand on her back, she just started sobbing. I moved her head to my chest as I did when she was younger, knowing my heartbeat always calmed her "so emotional little sis" I said, snickering, just wanting to tease her "S-Skxawng" she said, I just laughed a little "everything's alright starfish" it's been a while since we showed tons of physical affection, it was only a thing we really did when we where younger as now we're super busy all the time But since the war we talk and hug almost everyday, I guess just because I watched some of my closet friends, who I even considered family lose a sibling so I just wanted to hug mine extra tight

"I love you starfish" I said, hugging her, she smiled and hugged me back "I love you too Captain" Smiling I remembered all the memories of when she called me that when we where younger

We departed from the hug and went into the water, splashing each other and just playing around trying to get our minds off of everything

I can't wait to see him again
