Chapter 12. Akula

Third person pov

After flying for about two days. Neteyam and Al'uta landed on a hill at the forest, Neteyam getting off and looking around, seeing fire everywhere. Him immediately breaking down falling to his knees. He couldn't stand seeing his home destroyed

"Who did this..." he asked, hearing children and mothers screaming For their mates and fathers

"The sky people" Al'uta said, pointing to their base, neteyam immediately stood. Ready to pounce "not so fast tiger. Your not even our leader yet" she said, leading him by the hand to a big hut, ther was mo'at, his grandmother

Mo'at saw neteyam, quickly getting up and hugging him, saying a prayer to Eywa "oh my grandson" she said, looking at neteyam "you've come to save us"

Neteyam could only smile, mo'at quickly taking a knife, carving an X into his chest "no time for a Ceremony." Apparently their ways of marking a leader had changed

She handed him what they call a military outfit, cargo pants and a tan shirt "you'll need this if you want to blend in, also tho they don't see any of your scars and aim for weak points, go change" Mo'at said, Neteyam obliging and walking over to a curtain, pulling it and changing before walking back up

Mo'at grabbed a band, pulling up his hair and putting a black mark on either side of his face "good luck my baby" she said as he walked out with Al'uta

She lead him to their warriors, them all being mostly young teens "oh we have a lot to do huh" Neteyam asked, Al'uta just sighing

Ao'nung couldn't sleep. It had been two days since neteyam left, he couldn't stand being away from him

It was around midnight so he got up, quietly, grabbing his bags he had already packed as he set his mind on leaving to find neteyam a day ago

He wrote a note, leaving it next to Tsireya, not telling her where but saying he was going somewhere and that he loved her

Ao'nung quickly left the hut, going to his Ilu and hopping on, starting to go the direction neteyam flew, he had no clue how to get to the forest but for hell's sake he'd figure it the fuck out

Ao'nung had been going for lord knows how long. Almost falling asleep when he was thrown off his Ilu, hearing it chirp in pain before watching something swallow it whole

He stared in horror noticing the Akula anywhere, trying to swim away from it with his bag weighing him down

Taking a breath he swam down under a rock, hiding. He thought he was safe when he felt something slam up against it

Once

Twice

That thing was sure as hell gonna break it and kill Ao'nung. He quickly swam out from behind it, trying to find a shore of some kind, feeling it swim up behind him and

Pain

His left leg felt as if it had almost been completely torn off, his vision went blurry as he tried to find somewhere he could stay before he blacked out and drowned

He luckily found a shore. Dragging himself onto it before laying back, he knew he had to look at the injury though

He groaned, sitting up as he bit his lip, trying not to scream

Looking at his leg he was horrified, it had a big shrunk missing out of it. Obviously where the Akula had gotten him. He was just grateful it did not tear his whole leg off and or eat him

He had no time to try and wrap it, his vision blurring and the blood making him sick. He just laid down, putting his bag under his head as he closed his eyes

"I'm sorry my flower.."
