Chapter 7. Family

Ao'nung's pov

Riding on my ilu I saw a commotion on a rock, I saw Jake and Neytiri hovering over someone or something but I couldn't tell who it was

"Shh it's okay! We're gonna go home I'm promise" I heard Jake yell, quickly I swam up seeing Tsireya holding onto someone leg? I think

I jumped on the rock "is everyone alright?!" I asked before seeing neteyam, seeing lo'ak with his blood on his hands

"Dad i-"

I sat up, breathing heavy. Looking around I saw Tsireya about to wake me up but she sat on my bed "brother? Are you alright?" She sounded worried. I pulled my knees to my chest, trying to make sure it was a dream, but I knew it wasn't. It happened

"Oh that nightmare huh?" She said, rubbing my leg "well if it makes it better we're aloud to see him today" no thinking, I just got up, fixed my hair and rushed to the medics hut. She raced after me "not yet you Skxawng!" I stopped and turned to her "what?" "We can't see him yet, later, after lunch" I groaned, it was only like 8:30 so I headed to the shore and sat down, her following "he's fine, I promise" "I know I'm just worried Reya. He comes back and almost dies again"

She nodded "I know, I know"

"And I'm worried for Kiri, loosing a siblings hard but I didn't think she'd take it that hard, she never cared much when they got hurt, especially if they did it to themselves"

"Loosing a sibling would make you do things that even you wouldn't think you could do. I would kill if I lost you" I was a little taken aback, never thinking those words could come from her mouth

She just laughed "I would, I'd hope you'd do the same for me" I nodded, ofc I would, she was my little sister

I smiled, remembering what mom said when I first held her. I wasn't aloud to hold her till her Second birthday because I was only two when she was born but mom said when I held her the only words I said was "my little starfish"

I've always called her that, since I first saw her I felt the need to call her mine, like a daughter, although I was mean she's my bestfriend and I wouldn't trade the world for her

After talking for a while mom called us for lunch, I got up and offered my hand to her, she took it and smiled as I walked her into our hut "aw my sweet babies getting along" mama said, smiling at us before stopping what she was doing and staring "what did you do with my children" she asked, almost like she was serious

"I guess watching my closest friends loose a brother makes me want to hug mine tight and be grateful" Tsireya said, hugging me. I happily hugged back

Our mother smiled at us as we sat down, she handed us leafs with freshly cooked fish on them, kissing both of our foreheads "im so happy I have both of you, and another on the way" we both smiled back, kissing both sides of her face "we love you mom" I said as she walked back to the kitchen to fix fathers food "I love you too as well"

Me and Tsireya ate, conversing back and forth about random topics, mostly hers being Lo'ak, I could only smile for her, happy she found someone that made her so happy

"Oh Tuk made this for you, lo'ak say's she refers to you as future big brother" Reya smiled as she handed me an anklet, one that matched Tuk's. It being a beautiful dark blue woven with beads from the forest. I smiled quickly putting it on, happy to have such a brother sister relationship with my crushes little sister

Neteyam told me once that they literally could not even touch someone if Tuk didn't like them, He said he had a 'girlfriend' at the forest, more so a girl who wouldn't leave him alone and had a crush on him. Tuk apparently decided she had enough and told her to get lost. So I know that if tuk didn't like me neteyam wouldn't even be aloud around me, and She likes Reya so alls well

Once we where done eating we helped mom clean up and headed outside for a swim "wanna race to three brothers rock?" She asked. I didn't give her a second glance before diving into the water and swimming, I heard her yell probably some profanities and then felt her dive right next to me

I swam fast, somehow not as fast as Reya for when I got up onto the three brothers rock she was already there "okay miss mermaid" I said as she laughed "I won I won" she chanted, I only laughed and smiled

We decided we should probably head back so we did, I beat her hard this time, already being on the shore sitting on a rock when she came up

She sat next to me, leaning her head on my shoulders "your braids have starting coming undone my starfish" I said, running a hand through her hair to which she smiled at "would you fix them for me oh dearest brother?" She gave me puppy eyes, knowing I'd fix them anyways but wanting to be cute "ofc my starfish" I smiled as she moved to sit in front of me

I started to remove her braids and then rebraid them, I would never admit it but I loved her more then the sun loves the moon or the sea loves it's creatures, she was my other half and I would never let anything happen to her

Ugh I love their relationship, their like my fav brother sister duo 😭
Here's a sweet chapter before it kinda gets sad again
