"Ladies and gentlemen! I present to you the Valedictorian of Hawkins High, getting all A's from freshman to senior year and also one of the jewels of Hawkins High...Amberlee Sinclair!"
The crowd goes into loud cheers, Lucas Max and the others going to stand up and cheer loudly for Amberlee, Annalise clapping her hands and smiling while Max holds her. The wave their pon pons and signs that they made for her the night before, all of them cheering so loud it can be heard from the crowd.
Amberlee makes her way down the stage, her walking in her purple closed toed heels, her wearing a purple dress fancy boot leg jumpsuit under her glittery green gown she wears since she is Valedictorian. Her cap is also a glittery green, her Tassel hanging from her cap being silver and gold. She makes her way up to the podium, looking out at the vast number of people standing up and clapping for her, the vast number of people that go to sit down and look at her. The vast number of people she has to speak to. But she feels no nervousness, she just feels the need to say what needs to be said. She goes to take a deep breath, her putting her hands on the ends of the podium.
"Normally the normal ones would have papers up here for their speech but not me, I'm not normal." Amberlee mentions making the crowd laugh. "I am actually abnormal, I am actually different, and I have learned that is okay."
"Now I know I am expected to speak about trying to get the highest level of education possible and you will be successful, I am suppose to say that we all need to go to college, go to school for like four or six more years to earn the highest degree and that is the only way you will have success in life." Amberlee says, going to look around the crowd. "Well tnis speech is going to be different, because I am not promoting that. I myself don't even have plans to go to college." Amberlee admits causing whispers around the crowd.
"I know what you all are thinking, why wouldn't I? I probably have gotten offers which I have and I am suitable enough for it but that is not the point. The world tries to shape us to believe we have to follow this step, become in debt to student loans and learn absolutely everything and nothing at the same time to become successful in life. Well it's not true, in fact that is one of the great lies that I have heard in this world. I am not demoting college, I am just saying it is not a requirement to do."
"I look at my mother." Amberlee starts. "She had to finish school at home blind due to what happened to her. She didn't go to college, she did get her sight back in time to go to college but she didn't. She has no degrees, but look at her, one of the most successful businesswomen in the world along with my Auntie Nancy. I look at my Dad, he didn't get any degree and certificate in coaching but look at him now, not only the best loved teacher and coach in the school but also all around the world. He too has gotten many offers, even from colleges. So why hasn't he taken any? My mom too has gotten offers from bigger businesses, from higher chains up on the business world to become more successful then she already is. So why hasn't she taken any?"
"I'll tell you guys the answer, yes it is the simple fact that they don't want them..." she start making the crowd laugh. "But it is also because of who they are. The jobs that they have right now speak to them, it fits into who they are and they don't want to change that, it is no reason to change that. Big offers, offers sometimes once in a lifetime but denied. My point is that you don't need to be so high up in the food chain and have everything and the best job and countless degrees to be happy, that is not what the world is."
"All in all my point is that you don't have to let people shape you into this person you don't want to be, you don't have to listen to opinions on what everyone thinks you are going to be then you follow that. Let's be our own people." Amberlee says making the crowd cheer. "Everyone most of the time thinks how I am going to follow in my mothers footsteps and become the next businesswoman of Hawkins Post, and to answer you alls question you all are right, but you are not at the same time." She mentions. "I will be following her footsteps to become a businesswoman, but not through the post, but through my own business that I will start from scratch and built up from the ground to high up in the skies. It will be of my inventions, of my talents, and I am glad to say that I will have my weird cousin joining along with that with me."
