Chapter 34: Dinner Dates

Amberlee puts the noodles into the pot of water, letting it boil down, her beginning to cook the broccoli and the shrimp in a separate pan. Ryder makes his way inside of the kitchen, him looking at the stove over his shoulder. "Why are you behind me like a weirdo weirdo?"

"Can I make a request?"

"No but I'm pretty sure you are going to anyways."

Ryder rolls his eyes. "Can I just get mines without broccoli?"

Amberlee looks over at him. "I thought you liked vegetables."

"I do but broccoli ain't it for me, it taste like trees." Ryder responds.

"How do you know what trees tastes like?" Amberlee questions.

"Cause I tried to eat one." He replies simply.

Amberlee looks over at Ryder in confusion. "You tried to eat a tree?" She questions.

Ryder shrugs. "Yeah but it didn't work."

"Well yeah duh Ranger, you weirdo. Who tries to eat a damn tree?" She questions rhetorically while turning back around to the stove.

"Can my request be fulfilled?" He questions behind her.

"Yeah I guess I'll let you slide for not eating your vegetables, you'll have to be a good boy though." Ryder only just rolls his eyes in response, him slapping her ass before he walks away. "Ow that hurts Ranger!"

"My bad." He mentions simply.

"No you don't regret it at all!"

"Nah I don't." Ryder mentions simply while going to sit down on the couch.

Amberlee looks to the door when she hears knocks on it. "That's them open the door."

"Yeah I know Am." Ryder rolls his eyes, him going to open the door.

"Hello!" Stephanie waves politely with a wide smile.

Ryder nods simply. "What's good?"

"Oh going great! I bought dessert!" She says while making her way inside of the trailer. "Oh wow cool place!" She says while looking around the living room.

"Hey man how are you?" Amir questions with a smile while making his way inside of the house.

"Goin good bro you?" Ryder questions back while he closes the door and locks it.

"Great! Know you're glad to be out of that hell hole called prison." Amir mentions.

Ryder gives a tight smile while nodding. "Yeah."

"Oh Ambie!" Amir motions for her to come to him.

"Oh!" Amberlee says. "Ryder could you....actually no I don't want the trailer to burn down I bought it for a reason." She mentions simply, Ryder just rolling his eyes in response. "Stephanie could you watch the food?"

"Oh course!" Stephanie responds, her going over to the kitchen with a smile, her putting down the bag of dessert. "Hello Amberlee! Thanks for having us!" She says politely.

Amberlee gives Stephanie a tight smile. "Yeah course." She replies. "Alright thanks."

"No problem!" She replies.

Amberlee and Amir both make their way outside, Amberlee closing the door behind her. "She seems excited."

"Yes and be nice, she's really excited to spend time with you and Ryder especially you." Amir points at her.

"Okay first of all I'm not going to be mean and secondly why me?" Amberlee questions.

"Because you're an inspiration for her Ambie, a inspiration to become more confident in herself."
