Chapter 44: Who did it?

Lucas blows his whistle while he looks at the boys practice their drills, Henry standing besides him while they pace around while watching them. "Alright good keep it up." Lucas says.

"Jake foot work is off man no slack come on." Henry tells him.

"Yes Coach!"

"What do you think of the plays we already have?" Lucas questions while looking at the boys make shots into the net, some missing and them going in a line.

"I think we need to change some things up." Henry replies. "I think tomorrow at practice we do a practice game to see who does better at what position to ensure security."

"Yeah me too." Lucas responds while looking at his watch. "Alright boys gather up." Lucas replies, all of them going to gather up and circle around him. "Tomorrow at practice we are holding a practice game. I want everyone to be here ready to bring their A game alright? We have games to win."

"Yes Coach!"

"Don't mess up my record." Lucas says.

"Yes Coach!"

"Alright clean up and that's it for the day good job fellas." Henry claps.

"Woo!"

"Yeah!"

"Yes!"

All of them go to get the basketballs and put them into the basket, some going over to get some water. "Alright man I have date night." Henry says while stretching out.

"Date night huh?" Lucas questions with a smile. "You didn't tell me you had a girlfriend."

"Well we're still testing out the waters." Henry motions with his hand.

"What's her name?" Lucas questions.

"Okay I'm going to tell you but you have to keep a neutral expression." Henry whispers.

"Okay."

Henry comes closer to Lucas. "Carla."

Lucas eyes widen a little. "Carla as in one of the council members Carla?"

"Yeah." Henry nods his head.

"Hey man congrats I'm happy for you but just keep it under wraps, well until Becker retires he is still hell bent on the staff dating staff rule after that whole Katrina Lover bullshit, he's setting it out on everyone." Lucas explains.

"Yeah which is why I only let you know of it. We are keeping it under wraps." Henry replies.

"Alright that's good man, I'm happy for you kid, they grow up so fast." Lucas says while patting Henry's shoulder.

Henry rolls his eyes with a smile. "I'm two years younger then you."

"I know you're like..." Lucas motions with his had to his hip. "Down there."

"Haha." Henry says dramatically. "Hey I'm probably about to make you mad but have you seen the news feeds?"

"No what about it?" Lucas questions.

"So based on it Ryder's five months are up and him and Amberlee are walking about..." Henry starts while handing Lucas the phone. "Having a great time."

Lucas looks at the picture of Ryder and Amberlee kissing, him clenching his jaw and him letting out a sigh. "Bastard." He grumbles.

"Why what's wrong with him?" Henry laughs while taking his phone.

"Well I guess nothing now but he's still a bastard."

"Why?"

"Because he's dating my daughter." Lucas shrugs simply.
