Chapter 53: Talks given, points proven.

Max has her eyes closed while she lightly smiles, Lucas having his arms around her while they are in the bed, her back being rested on his front, her leaning on him while he continues to lightly sway her from side to side. He sings to her, his soft voice doing well to calm her down. His warm body engulfs her, her breathing a sigh of content while he slowly sways her, singing softly in her ear.

After he is done he goes to kiss softly down her neck, her humming lightly as he does, her smiling. "You're everything to me." He says softly to her, kissing her cheek softly. "Everything. Understand?"

Max nods her head while her eyes are still closed. "I understand. You're everything to me too Lucas. I'm sorry for doubting it just came and I just...gave in a little."

Lucas tilts her head a little for Max to look at him, him softly stroking her face. "You have nothing to apologize for." He says on her lips. Max smiles softly at him, Lucas going to kiss her softly.

Their lips linger on one another in a stilling manner before they slowly pull away from each other, Max smiling softly at him. "Thank you for making me feel better."

Lucas smiles at her. "I'm glad I did, I don't like seeing you cry love."

"I just want to be sure I am doing all that is best for you just like you do all that is best for me."

"You do Max, every single day." Lucas responds. "And I called Ryder him and Angel should be here soon. Despite how much I hate to admit it...you were right."

Max nods her head, her snuggling closer to him. "I still feel bad."

"Max you don't have to, at the end it was my choice. You just told me to rain hellfire on him you didn't say anything about killing him that was my choice not yours. The man wasn't a good man Max, and yes I am still bothered by it but I will find a way to manage, this is not your fault. You make everything better for me every single day, I need you Max, I need you. You are my heartbeat you are my heart, without you I'm nothing."

Max smiles softly at him, her leaning on his shoulder while looking at him with loving doe eyes. "I'm nothing without you either Lucas."

Lucas kisses her once again, them smiling in the kiss. They pull away lightly when they hear a knock on their door. "Come in."

Nancy makes her way inside of the room while holding Annalise. "Someone is worried about her momma." Nancy smiles.

"Mommy." Annalise reaches for her, Nancy giving her to Max.

"Hey babygirl." Max says while taking Annalise, sitting her in front of her.

"Hey Princess." Lucas smiles.

"Hi mommy hi daddy!" Annalise waves. "Mommy okay?"

"Mommy is fine sweetheart, just needed a moment. Daddy made me feel better." Max says in response with a light smile.

"Why were you sad mommy?" Annalise questions.

"Mommy was concerned for me Princess because your mother is always so caring towards us isn't she?" Lucas questions with a smile.

"Yes!" Annalise smiles.

"So me and mommy were just talking. Mommy is fine now." Lucas says.

Annalise smiles, her looking back at Max. "Mommy happy?"

Max chuckles lightly, her nodding her head. "Yeah mommy is happy Babygirl. Even more happy since I get to see that beautiful smile of yours." Max pokes her nose playfully.

Annalise giggles, her going to hug Max. Max hugs her back tightly, Lucas going to hug Annalise when she goes to hug him as well.

Nancy smiles at them, her looking outside of the door when she hears the doorbell. "I'll go get it."
