Chapter 42: Babysitting

Amberlee slowly begins to wake up, her seeing that she is on top of Ryder while he lays asleep on the couch, one of his arms hanging off the couch. She slowly goes to wipe her eyes while sitting up, making her straddle him. She yawns while stretching out her arms, her looking over at the digital clock on the counter, it being close to picking up Annalise.

She goes to lightly shake Ryder. "Ryder I'm going to go shower and pick up Anna."

"Mhm." He hums, his eyes still being closed.

Amberlee makes her way off of him, giving him a quick kiss on his lips before she makes her way to the shower, going to take a quick shower before making her way out and moisturizing and brushing her teeth and washing her face. She makes her way to the room to put on a simple purple T shirt and purple high rise shorts and black scandals, leaving her hair in a braid before she makes her way out of the room, shaking her head with a smile when she sees Ryder asleep on his stomach with a arm hanging off the couch.

She makes her way out of the trailer, her going to get out of the car and drive up to the school. When she gets there she makes her way out of the car, her going into the building and waiting by Annalise class door. When the bell rings the doors open and kids begin to fly out of the classrooms, some parents being inside to greet their children while most of them wait outside. When the door to Annalise's classroom opens Amberlee sees the kids that flood out, finally setting eyes with Annalise.

"LeeLee!" Annalise says happily, her running over to her and going to hug her legs.

Amberlee smiles, her going to pick Annalise up at hug her. "How was school sunshine?"

"It was fine! Now I can play games with mommy!" Annalise claps her hands excitedly while Amberlee opens the front door to the school, making her way out.

"Sunshine mom has to work late tonight, she won't be able to do games tonight." Amberlee comments. "Did she not tell you?"

Annalise face drops, her looking down. "She did, I just forgot." She mentions sadly.

Amberlee smiles small at her. "It's okay we'll figure out what to do that's fun okay?"

"Okay." Annalise nods. Amberlee goes to put her in the car seat in the backseat before she gets in the driver side, her beginning to make her way back to the trailer.

She looks through the rear view mirror to see Annalise looking down in sadness, her lightly kicking her feet. Unlike her Annalise is clingy, and she loves to be around Max, she is a mama's girl after all. But just like her Amberlee knows that Annalise is going to be one of those that is not afraid to admit that her parents are her best friends, that that is who she chooses to hang out with rather than schoolmates. Annalise is quiet, she's mellow but kind, just like Lucas.

"How about I make some beef Mac N cheese then we can find some games to play okay?" Amberlee says while looking through the rear view mirror.

"Okay." Annalise nods.

"Mommy will play games with you another night, her and Dad just had to catch up on some work." Amberlee explains.

Annalise nods her head, her still lightly kicking her legs a little. "Okay."

"Come on sunshine don't be sad, you're making me sad."

"I'm not sad I miss mommy, she has been mad."

Amberlee sighs a little, she definitely knows why when it comes to that. Amberlee realizes just how much it was effecting Max and putting a damper on her when Lucas and Amberlee were arguing. It cause her to get behind on some work and her behavior to switch as well. "Yeah you can get mad at me for that."
