Chapter 96 The Truth

Back at Sero's house, Shinsou was pacing the now dubbed "nest room" while Momo and Anzu watched over the omegas in the play room. The purple alpha's eyes had larger than usual shadows under them. Insomnia had plagued him for the last few nights. The question of whether or not to tell Denki about the need to terminate some of the pups weighed heavily on his mind. This wasn't like when Dabi impregnated him, and that decision had been tough too. Those had been born from rape and by a violent monster. Now Denki was his mate and those pups were his. He couldn't make the decision on his own, but how could he ask Denki to make it? He had lost so many pups already.

But in the end, Shinsou came to the same conclusion. He couldn't decide this on his own. He needed to tell Denki.

Leaving the nest room, Shinsou walked through Sero's house to the playroom. He passed Eijiro and Katsuki in the hall, they were discussing gang details. Shinsou hadn't done anything to help the gang or the hotel since the rescue mission, he couldn't make himself leave Denki's side since Shiguraki's kidnapping.

Opening the door to the playroom, he saw his omega playing with toy blocks and stuffed animals with his friend. Both still carried their fake babies with them, but Momo wanted them to have time to still have fun themselves.

"Denki?" Shinsou called softly. "Can you come here, my bumblebee? There's something we need to talk about. Can you ask Momo to watch the baby for you?"

Denki carefully got off of the floor. He walked over to Momo and took a moment to think of how to ask nicely.

"Can you watch my baby?" Denki asked making Momo blush and fan herself. She found her pup so adorable at times she couldn't help herself.

"Yes I'll watch my grand baby" Momo said playfully.

"Thank you mama" Denki smiled before going over to his alpha. He looked up at Shinsou lifting his arms to be picked up. "Yes Toshi?"

The alpha reached down and lifted up Denki. He let the boy wrap his arms around his neck and his legs around his waist. Shinsou held Denki on his hip as he walked them away and to their bedroom. The alpha was concerningly silent and it was making Denki worried.

When they reached the room, Shinsou closed the door behind him and carried the omega to the bed. He sat down on the edge and spun Denki around to straddle his hips so that they were face to face. "Denki... There's something I need to tell you. It's going to be hard to hear. It's...it's going to be scary."

Denki's smile faded quickly after hearing that. Fear began to set in making him shake. He laid his head on the alpha finding protection in his arms. Denki sniffled fearing the worst already.

"W-what I do?..." Denki sniffled hoping he wasn't in trouble. "I take care of baby the best mommy teach me. I did it wrong?"

Shinsou wrapped his arms around Denki and held on to him tight. "You've never done anything wrong. I promise you, you've done nothing wrong. You aren't in trouble." The alpha nuzzled Denki's yellow hair. "There is...a choice we have to make. And the worst part is that both options are terrible." The alpha felt his omega trembling in his arms. Shinsou took Denki's hand and lifted it to his lips to give it a kiss. "Denki, I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry, I... I always seem to cause you more and more pain."

Denki was really scared now. He didn't know what was about to happen. Shinsou apologizing like this made him feel the alpha had made some kind of mistake.

"What happened Toshi? What... what is going on?" Denki asked wanting things to not be confusing anymore.

The words were choking him, making it hard to breathe. Shinsou felt tears burning trails along his cheeks as his hands gave Denki's a squeeze.
