Chapter 12

(please, if you do not remember what happened in the last flashback, read it again)

"You're still my love, even if I'm not yours anymore."

Aina didn't wake up until morning, almost before lunch, to Kuina poking her shoulder trying to wake her up.

"Aina, get up." Kuina spoke to her in a low voice. Aina opened her eyes to see Kuina bending over her.

"You have beautiful eyes." Aina smiled as she looked into her friend's eyes for a moment.

"A lot of people tell me that, but now get up." Kuina pulled back the covers from Aina and walked over to the large window where she blurred the curtains.

"Did you really have to do that? After all, I'm still sleeping."

"That's exactly why I did it. Come on, you can't sleep all day. Our visas are running out today. They will divide us into teams." Kuina put her arms on her hips and turned to the still lying Aina.

When she heard the word visa, her face froze for a moment and she took a deep breath. She didn't feel good about having to go on a life-or-death journey again.

She suddenly sat up and sadly hung her legs off the bed.

"It'll be fine," Kuina smiled at Aina and slowly moved closer to her.

"I promise." Kuina added as she gave her right hand to Aina, asking her to finally stand up. Aina smiled out of one corner of her mouth and held out her hand gratefully. Since Aina was wearing a swimsuit top, she threw on the gray T-shirt  on top of it.

Together, they then both went out of the room to the corridor, through which a few people were just passing. Once again, muffled music could be heard from the hall, giving Aina a headache.

As Kuina was closing the door to the room, Aina was standing next to her when she suddenly saw Chishiya coming out of the room a few meters away from theirs. Chishiya noticed her as well and chuckled softly when he saw Aina rolling her eyes at him.

"Chishiya, are you coming with us?" Kuina ran towards him with a quick step. Aina folded her arms over her chest and watched them from a distance.

"I don't know..." It came out of Chishiya's mouth, keeping his eyes on Aina.

"What?" Kuina turned towards Aina.

"Has something happened?" Kuina added later.

"She just doesn't like me." He laughed.

"That's because you're acting like an insensitive animal." Aina's voice increased in decibels as she remembered how unpleasant Chishiya had been yesterday.

Chishiya looked at the ground, took a deep breath, and finally looked at Aina again. Well, he didn't say anything. He just stared at her, and she stared back at him.

"You are terrible. You should be working together, not always arguing with each other. I feel like your mom who has to put out the fire between you." Kuina spoke up. She didn't want to hear another word, even though she knew Aina didn't like Chishiya.

Yes, Kuina was aware that Chishiya was annoying at times, but she also knew that it never hurt to stay close to him.

Kuina and Chishiya moved forward and Aina followed with a sigh. She was walking on Kuina's left when they were stopped by an armed Aguni and Niragi near the grand staircase to the hall. Aina instinctively stepped back a few inches to keep her distance from Niragi. He obviously noticed because he smiled at her and said, "Are you afraid of me?"
