"Okay momma here's your water and grapes" I walked into her room holding a bowl of grapes and a bottle of water
It's been a week since momma has been home and me and King have been switching off every two days just spending the night with her monitoring her
she was opposing to it at first but she remembered quickly how her children were and we weren't taking no for an answer
today me and King were switching again it was his turn to watch momma after giving her, her grapes and water
I went to my old bedroom packing my things I heard the front door open and close as I heard two voices getting closer to the hallway
I continued to pack as I hear two voice say hey one I knew was my brother and the other one sounded familiar but I didn't know who exactly it was but I waved it off and finished packing
I walked back into momma room seeing King catering to my mom and a man sitting next to her in the bed talking to her
I frowned he glanced over to me looking me up and down before engaging back into the conversation with my mom
"Wassup Bk" King walked over to me kissing my forehead "Wassup who's this" I asked looking at him he had a full beard and his hair was cut low he laughed from what my mom said showing off his white straight teeth
"That's my nigga Kareem you remember from highschool" King asked my eyes widen he looked different
He was taller and he was built he looked a lot different from highschool Kareem
"I thought he left for the navy" I questioned King laughed "He did his contract is over and now he's back here" King shrugged walking away leaving me staring at Kareem
He was fine no doubt but he was intimidating just a little bit and I didn't like it at all I hated the feeling of being uncomfortable
"Did anybody tell you staring is rude" He stood up walking past me I mugged him rolling my eyes as he walked past me leaving my mother's room
"Rude" I mumbled walking over to the bed sitting on the end "Oh I know you ain't talkin young lady" my mom smacked her lips I laughed nodding "Okay yeah maybe I need to do some reevaluating on myself"
"Agreed" King said smartly I rolled my eyes "He has really grown King" My mom said referring to Kareem
"I know when I picked him up from the airport this morning I was like the hell happened" King chuckled as my mom laughed "Where is he staying" I asked King
"With me and Sabrina for a little so he can save up for an apartment"
"He got a job already" My mom asked King shook his head yes
"Alright mama bowl of vanilla bean" Kareem came back into the room sitting next to her handing her the bowl
