(Charlie's POV)

Life was always great to me. I came out as lesbian when I was 14, and no one really looked at me differently. My parents were always iffy about it, but they still supported me. Poor Castiel though, he was forced out of the closet. He was kissing this guy In a classroom and some jocks had found them. Long story short, it's been bad for since then. Not as much as it used to be, because a lot more people were coming out. Mostly as bisexual. Like, Mr. Dean Winchester.

So far I've liked the guy, only because Cas really likes him. And because of that, Dean has grown on me. Whatever makes my best friend happy, makes me happy.

Castiel and I have known each other since freshman year. This school is so weird though because it takes in five grades, so 8th grade is the freshman year. The middle school took in 5th-7th. I've heard that other schools are way different so yeah. But that means Cas and I have been friends for about 5 years now.

*flashback to 4 years ago*

"Hey, Charlie?" Cas looks up at me. He is sitting on the ground by my bed, back leaned against the side of my bed.

"Yeah?" I don't look down because I'm too busy playing a game on the play station.

"Can I ask you something?"

This catches my attention so I pause the game and look at him, "What is it?"

"How did you react when you found out your friend, Jo is bi?"

This made me really nervous because it felt like he was trying to say something. Does he know? Does he know I'm gay?

"Um.. I don't know. I accepted it, it didn't change anything. We are still good friends obviously."

"Okay.." He looks down at the ground.

"Why, Cas?" I ask him.

He doesn't say anything for a second but then looks back at me. "Charlie..can you keep a secret?"

Now I don't think he knows.

"Of course." I nod at him.

"I'm gay, Charlie." He looks as though he's about to cry.

"Hey hey don't cry!!" Sitting down next to him I say this, and hug him.
"You want to know a secret too?"

He quietly says "sure"

"I'm gay too!" I laugh.

He just turns his head quickly to look at me in shock but also relief.
"Really??"

I nod and he hugs me back.

"Wait a second.." He pulls away then continues, "Are you and Jo.."

I smile and nod knowing what he was going to ask about her and I.

Jo and I have been secretly dating because we haven't been sure how anyone would react. Plus, I felt Cas would have the right to know about me being a lesbian before anyone else.

*different flashback, but same year*

"You ready?" Jo aks me, grabbing my hand.

I just nod at her with a "mhm" before we jump out of her parents car. She had already told her parents about her sexuality and they were cool about it. My parents still don't know. But I was going to be telling them soon probably.

We walk through the front doors, hand in hand, down the hallways. Some people look at us with shocked faces, some with grins, some with accepting smiles. It didn't last long though. People just went back to their own thing without a care.
