_FIGHT_

EVIE'S POV
•••It was pretty late and I was struggling to sleep. The other day, I went to the flats to see one of my mates and they were smoking a lot of weed so naturally I came back smelling of weed.
I knew they noticed it.
Sapphire definitely did and so did that boy, Liam. I'd been at Elm Tree for a week now and I hadn't settled in, I knew as soon as I did I would be moved.
Once I'd finally shut my eyes to get some sleep, my phone pinged on my bedside table. The screen blared and filled the room with white light. Sapphire shuffled a little but didn't wake up. I grabbed my phone and looked at the message. I let out a small gasp at who it was.
It was El.
I clicked on it and my messages app opened.
EL: Wys sis, how's the new house?
I quickly tapped a reply.
ME: El! Whats going on? You haven't reached out in time, you good?
Her reply was fast.
EL: I'm busy, staying at Stef's for the time being.

El and I messaged most of that night. Now I was sat behind the shed on my school playground. Usually I'd be with Shelley and my other friends but I knew how they'd act. Shelley would be all, "I'm so sorry! Is there anything I can do?" and then Jamie would be all, "You alright, Evs? Everything good?" and then Donte, Elizabeth and Keon would all be the same.
They would all say the same thing along the same lines.
So instead of being bored by sympathy, I was scrolling on Instagram. It was quiet where I was sat and all I could hear were the faint noises of loud chat and laughter and occasionally a reel would pop up. Thats why I was startled as somebody leapt over the fence and sat beside me. I was very confused before looking over and recognising the person as my sister.
"El! What the- you shouldn't be here. You know if a teacher catches you they'll call the feds and then get social on you," I said, panicky.
"Relax, girl, it's all good," she said, kissing her teeth, "Damn, you acting like you ain't happy to see me,"
"What? Don't be a dickhead, course I am," I said. We laughed a little. "How's it staying at Stef's yard, then?" I asked.
"Yeah, its calm, I got a present for you," she said and reached into the pocket of her jacket. She pulled out a bundle of cash and placed it into my palm.
"What the fu- Are you back on road?"
"I never left," El said, "Take it," I knew she weren't gonna give up until I took it so I shoved it into my blazer. "Why don't you come back out? Kyron says your good on the field ya'no, and you can fight," I didn't reply, I huffed and looked down. "Come on sis, I know you wanna cop some new trainers, them airforces are looking creased,"
I laughed and smacked her arm, "Nah, nah El- I mean I don't know. Maybe, once my sentence is finished," I showed her the tag on my ankle, "New trainers sound nice, though,"
