_THE BURNYWOOD MENACE_
•••
EVIE'S POV
•••

We were all in the kitchen mucking about making a tower with beans and bread. The council keeps giving us these gross beans and toast and we were sick of it, so we thought if everything gets used up then they'll give us something new.

Sapphire squealed in disgust as some beans dropped from the top, then Tracy came in. "What are you doing?" she asked, leaning against the kitchen Island.

"Making a tower, what's it look like?" Liam said, his voice had recently broke and I was still struggling to get used to it so I have hold in my laugh every time he spoke.

"Ok, why?" Tracy asked.

"Well, you don't expect us to eat this rubbish, do you?" I asked, rhetorically.

"They keep giving us these horrible cheap beans." Carmen added, with a look of disgust.

"And I think you'll find they're past their sell-by." Tee said and Johnny made a retching noise.

Tracy checked the tub, "Only by a few days," she try to assure us, "Look, we've got to save some money." she told us.

"Well, we've had no takeaways." Sapphire complained.

"I couldn't go swimming." Toby protested.

"And there's a cut down on electrical time." Johnny said.

"Ok, ok, I know it's a little bit rubbish." Tracy admitted, then Gus ran inside, in full meltdown mode.

"They cancelled my piano lessons!" he shouted, gripping his hair. "I always have piano lessons on Wednesday. If I don't have piano lessons on a Wednesday, the Wednesday won't work!"

Liam sighed and went to Tracy, "Look me in my eyes Tracy beaker, and tell me this is fair." He told her. Tracy left to go speak to Mike and came back 10 minutes later to announce some revolting news. The council were going to pack everyone up and move us all to Burnywood.

I haven't had a lap there yet, but by the way Liam shouted, "Burnywood?!" in shock and anger, It couldn't be good.

"They can't do that!" Carmen protested.

"But this is our home!" Tee said.

"Thats why we need to make these cuts work." Tracy said.

"Nah look, don't get sucked in. If they want to shut us down, they will. Doesn't matter how much money we save." Sapphire said and walked off. Liam gave her a disapproving glare.

"She's right." I said, "That's what happened at my last house." I admitted.

"I've done a stretch in Burnywood." Liam told us, looking pretty upset but sounded firm when he said, "I'm not going back."

"Then help it make it cheaper here, and you won't need to." Tracy said. "Neither will anyone else."

There was silence for a second then Liam conjured up a plan, "Everyone, let's show these council muppets how to run this place on the cheap."
