_A CONTRACT OF LOVE_

THIRD PERSON POV
•••

Today was the day.

June 12th 2017.

Evie Matthews was to be wedded to Liam O'donavan. Both of them were ex-care kids and never had hope this day would ever come.

Evie had appointed her sister, El, as her best man. Well, she was really her maid of honour but El hated that phrase. And Liam thought it would be fun to join in on that joke, so Frank was his maid of honour/best man. Evie thought it would be hilarious if Frank wore a dress, seeing as El was wearing a tux, but he put his foot down on that one.

Evie had three bridesmaids, Tee, Carmen, Sapphire and her best friend Shelley. Harry was the ring bearer. Mike was officiating, he got ordained online just for them.

Tracy, Gina, Cam, Johnny, Harry, Tyler, Jody, Toby, Gus, Rick and Lily were all invited as guests. Toby and Gus couldn't make it, though. Liam's brother was coming too. So were a couple of people from Evie's old council estate, like Auntie Hattie and Anton. Evie's uncle Amz was coming and obviously so was her Dad.

Out of Evie's school friends, Shelley, Jamie and Sienna were coming. The others had lost contact and never replied to the invitation. Out of Liam's school friends, Zach, Daniel, Lia and Malachi were coming.

Mandy was not invited.

Evie vividly remember Liam sweating a little around the neck after her Dad had a talk with him, but his forehead was glistening after El's talk with him. This made Evie laugh a lot, even though she knew her family was probably serious. They wouldn't actually chop his balls off with a kitchen knife, though.

Oh, and, gosh, Evie had found the most perfect dress.

It was sort of simple but it was beautiful. It went down into a mermaid cut and had a long train. It had a deep sweetheart line and sequins up and down the bodice and skirt.

Liam looked incredibly handsome in his tuxedo

Liam looked incredibly handsome in his tuxedo. It was a plain black one with a silk collar, white shirt and black bowtie but Evie loved it on him. Liam tried to negotiate into wearing a proper tie instead of a bowtie (he said he looked like the cat from Dr. Seuss), but his fiancé immediately shot him down. He could wear a proper tie after the ceremony. He had pinned blue flowers in to the collar to match his shoes.
