_CENTRE_

EVIE'S POV
•••

Today was my last day at normal school then they were moving me to a pupil referral unit on Monday. Or Centre. As much as school pissed me off, I didn't wanna go. I didn't wanna leave my friends. I would still see them outside of school but still I would see them all a lot less. I would miss Mr McCoy too, it sounds corny to miss a teacher but he's really helped me. So overall, I was really bummed about leaving so I decided to make my last day one of the best.

As always, I jumped the bus with Jamie and met Shelley at the gates. Then when we went into school, we went to the back stairwell that nobody used. There, Keon, Elizabeth and Donte would meet us. That was like one of our traditions. Most mornings we'd meet in that stairwell and bunk tutor time. I could tell the others were bummed about me leaving but I wanted to keep their minds off it. We played music, laughed and took pictures like always. It just felt normal.

My first lesson was Geography, I had geography with Liam and fortunately we sat together. Geography was fun most of the time, Liam and I made it fun seeing as both of us hated it. I wasn't failing it but Liam was. The teacher, Mr Ansil, was pretty clueless and just gave us a work sheet to get on with. We laughed a lot more than usual in that lesson.

"Evie, are you actually leaving?" A boy in my class called Mason asked me. I've never spoken to him so I was a tiny bit odd when he was asking.

"Yep." I said.

Everyone looked a little confused but I just ignored them and carried on chatting with Liam. It seemed to spread around the school like wildfire that Liam and I were dating. It happened at elm tree as well. I didn't care, people could say what they wanted.

Period 2 was science. Science was my least favourite subject, ever. I hated it. None of my friends were in that lesson and the teacher was the worst. Another bad thing, the science block was all the way at the end of the field so I had my PE lesson early today. Half the time in science, I didn't even think the teacher knew what she was on about let alone me. So I just stuck my AirPods on, listened to Brent Faiyaz and then drank or ate whatever I bought in the off license before school.

Break time came and went really fast, then came period 3. Art. Art was one of the most pointless subjects. We spent 99% of the lesson mucking about and 1% of the lesson doing art.
I had art with Elizabeth and Donte so it was fine, however Vanessa was in this lesson. Lord, this girl is lucky I'm being excluded. She threatened to get her brother on me but I'm still untouched.

"Can you stop looking at me?" Vanessa shouted at me in the midst of the lesson, her voice whiny and annoying. I wasn't even looking at her, she was just thirsty.

"I'm not even looking at you." I called back from where I was swinging on my chair, "And anyway why would I wanna look at a beast like you?"

This made everyone erupt in laughter and 'oo's and 'Vanessa are you gonna have that?'s. Vanessa didn't retaliate and looked down at her work. Then another kid came into the lesson and slammed the door behind him. I laughed.

"Oo badman!" I said, making more people laugh around me.

"She love badman!" Elizabeth sang and Donte drummed on the table. My stomach was hurting from all the laughter after that lesson, even though I was awarded with an hour detention and three behaviour points. I would not be attending that detention, today's my last day.
