Screams and crazed voices echoed through the walls of the asylum though (y/n) was used to it by now, but the laughter of the Joker still gave her chills. (Y/n) laid in her cell late at night reading the newspaper, apparently Batman hasn't been seen with Robin. Odd, it was rare the two were ever apart from what she'd read. Apparently he hadn't been seen since yet another fight between the Bat and the Joker where Robin chased Joker into a building that exploded. It made (Y/n) sad this Robin actually showed the potential to save this city and stop its crime, permanently but then again how could she know for sure, she only spoke to Robin once for an interview for her school paper. She let out a sigh and rolled over to face her cell wall after she hid her newspaper until the morning.

The screams and crazed voices were different tonight, yeah they still muttered about a pesky rabbit or some holiday but the usually quiet empty cell next to her now had whimpers and hisses of pain coming from it. After two hours of tossing and turning and trying to sleep through the whimpers and pain filled sobs coming from the opposite cell (y/n) finally had enough and got off her cot and crawled to the vent under it. "Hey, you ok in there? Rough day in treatment?" she asked loud enough for only her neighbor to hear. That's when they got quiet. Maybe they didn't want to talk or maybe they finally passed out from the pain. "No...I'm not ok." came her neighbor's voice. it was a guy, he sounded about her age, maybe a little older but not by much. "Need to talk about it? I know some of the doctors here suck, they do more harm than good." she said inching closer to the vent to peek into the other cell but it was too dark to see anything other than his form on the bed. With a hiss of pain the figure rolled over and looked at peeking girl from the cell next to him. "I'm (Y/n)." she said quietly as the foot steps of a guard passed their cells. He watched her carefully and she offered him a small smile. "You don't have to talk, I get it. Just know its better to have someone to talk to in here, don't keep it all bottled up ok?" she said but the only response she got was a grunt of pain as the figure rolled over again.
