10th february i wake up in olivia's arms, and i smile, looking up. olivia was still sleeping, so i move over, getting my phone and laying back on top of her.
i scroll through my phone, waiting for olivia to wake up. after about half an hour i look up again as i feel shuffling, a little more than usual. "good morning," olivia whispers. "good morning, miss olivia rodrigo," i smile, moving up. i give her a short kiss, smiling at her. "it's a life saver kaizen gave you saturday off too," olivia smiles, "our day date yesterday was amazing." "i know, now i've got the weekend all to you," i chuckle, rolling off her. "lucky me," olivia says. "are you sure you don't have anything on?" i ask. "no..." olivia furrows her eyebrows, "no, i've got nothing." "alright," i say, turning my phone on, "4 days until valentine's day and 10 days until your birthday!" "i know," olivia laughs, "it's a packed few weeks." "what're you doing for your birthday?" i ask. "not sure yet," olivia says, "but i wanna spend it with you, whether it's the day before or on the day." "spend it with your family on the day," i advise, "we can celebrate a day before."
after i make blueberry pancakes, we sit down at the dining table. we get onto the topic of favorite school subjects. "music," olivia picks hers, "you?" "math and science," i answer, "biochemistry, to be exact." "wow, didn't expect that," olivia smiles. "yeah, i always liked science. came first in both subjects every year in high school too," i laugh. "look at you!" olivia exclaims, "smarty pants."
14th february olivia and i sit on my couch, holding out the gifts after i hand her the bouquet of deep, red roses. "i've got work in 2 hours," i tell her. "that's alright, i came here earlier because you have work," olivia answers, "should we exchange gifts?" "yeah, one at a time," i say. "okay," olivia chuckles, picking up her small gift. i hand olivia one of my presents to her, which was just a box of ferrero rochers packed in a heart packaging.
we get to the last present. olivia and i had been giving each other pretty big presents, the chocolates i gave her being the smallest gift. "okay," olivia says, handing me the present with two hands. she has a big smile on her face, and i laugh, handing her the present i got her. "oh, you're gonna love this," olivia laughs. "i'm getting scared now," i smile. "okay, i wanna watch you open it." i start to tear the paper. i burst out laughing, "oh, i love it!"
i keep a wide smile as i look at the pastel purple sweatshirt. 'happy valentine's day!' was written in the same minimalistic font as the other sweatshirt in white. but, under it was a picture of olivia.

the picture was in the center of the sweatshirt. "are you ordering these online?" i laugh, looking at olivia. "my friend owns a clothes company so i pay her to make these," olivia laughs. "oh, this is amazing," i smile, "can i wear it to work?" "if you aren't embarrassed," olivia smiles. "why would i be embarrassed?" i laugh, "i'm literally dating this girl." i point to olivia's picture on the sweatshirt.
olivia waits on the bed as i put loose, black jeans on, putting the sweatshirt over it. i walk out of the bathroom after taking a quick mirror selfie, and olivia smiles at me. "you're seriously wearing it?" olivia asks, smiling. "yeah, why? should i not?" i ask, looking down at the shirt. "it's just," olivia shrugs, standing up, "adam would've probably thrown it away if i gave him something like this, let alone wear it to work." "well, i'm not adam," i smile, "i'd wear this to work every day if it was valentine's day." olivia chuckles. "plus, adam isn't the standard," i add. "i know," olivia smiles, "i should stop comparing him to you." "oh no, continue," i chuckle. olivia laughs, walking up to me, "happy valentine's day, love." "love?" i smile, placing my hands on her waist. "yeah, do you like the nickname?" she chuckles, placing her hands on my shoulders. "it's very cute," i smile. "so, what're you gonna say if someone asks i'f we're dating?" olivia asks. "um," i sigh, "i don't know. i feel like it's still kinda early to be putting us out there." "yeah," liv agrees. "i'll just say it's an inside joke, or a joke," i smile.
before olivia goes home, she tells me she'll pop into the cafe to have dinner with her friends. she called it a 'galantine's date plus conan' date.
i walk into the staff room. "cute sweatshirt," mateo notes. "thanks," i say, facing him, "happy valentine's day." "happy valentine's day," he chuckles, "are you spending it with olivia?" "yeah, after work. sucks that i finish at 8, but lucky it's not a later shift," i say. "true," mateo agrees.
i walk out to the cafe, seeing the place pretty packed with couple dining in for valentine's. i look at jess, and she looks at my sweatshirt, laughing. "oh, that's so cute!" jess exclaims. "olivia gave it to me," i laugh.
i watch as olivia and her friends come in. olivia scans the cafe, and we meet eyes. she chuckles, continuing to walk towards the counter. i laughs as olivia's friends laugh at my sweatshirt. "hey olive," i smile, "hey guys." "hi," olivia smiles back, "how's work so far?" "good, pretty busy today," i say. olivia looks around, nodding. "so, table for four?" i assume. "yes please," olivia says.
i lead them to a table in the far back corner as olivia had mentioned she likes this table better than the rest. they sit down, and i hand out the menu. "let me know when you guys are ready to order, i'll be with you," i say. they all say thanks, and i look at olivia as she says thank you too. "no problem," i say, placing my hand on olivia's head. "hey!" she laughs as i ruffle her hair a little. i laugh too, walking away.
i walk to their table with a tray, starting to place their food on the table. "wait, before you go, can i take a picture of you and liv? i gotta take one with the sweatshirt," iris asks. "oh, yeah, sure," i chuckle. olivia stands up, and i open my arms. olivia smiles, side hugging me tightly with both her arms. i put my arms around her, and we both smile at iris' phone.
olivia and i stand and talk for about a minute, before i decide to go back to work. "go eat your food before it gets cold," i chuckle to olivia. "okay, i will," olivia smiles. "okay, i'll see you soon," i say, holding her chin with my fingers and kissing her head twice quickly. "enjoy the food, guys," i say, "happy valentine's day."
after placing food on a tray, i hold it with one hand. i start to walk over to the table. "ah," i yell quietly, furrowing my eyebrows and wincing shortly as i feel a sharp, small sting on the back of my neck. i walk over to an empty table, placing the tray on there.
i reach to the back of my neck, pulling something off. "ouch," i whisper, feeling something pull off my neck, like plucking a hair. i bring my hand back in front of me, looking at the spider.
i drop the spider in the bin, brushing my hand on my jeans and shaking my shoulders to get rid of the goosebumps i got.
