i see someone walk to me, and i gasp, smiling, "olivia?!" i look at olivia's dress, being deep red and having a spider-woman logo pin at the top right. i follow up to her ears, seeing her wearing the same earrings but in gold as we arranged. i look at her makeup, smiling at the red lipstick and black winged eyeliner. olivia's hair was out, two small braids at the front, with small silver spider logos pressed into her hair.

"i have... no words," i breathe out, ignoring all the flashing cameras. "you look beautiful," olivia laughs, "definitely the star of the met." "you look beautiful," i laugh, "i really love your look, olive." "wait, i haven't shown you the best part," she says, turning around. "oh my god!" i exclaim, looking at the gold spines, "is that for doc ock? it looks incredible! can i touch it?" "don't break it," she laughs. i run my fingers over it, squealing, "that's so cool!"

olivia turns around, smiling softly, "you're still wearing the necklace." she touches the necklace and i look down, seeing the necklace that olivia gave with her name on it. "i am," i smile, "both of them. does it look okay?" olivia's hand goes to the locket necklace, and she cups her hand on the side, smiling at the beach photo that was in it. "everything looks perfect," olivia assures. "you're never gonna hear the end of how good you look," i laugh, "let's take some pictures."  olivia laughs, standing beside me.

i wrap my arm around the back of her, and she does the same. we smile at the cameras, and i olivia lays her head on my shoulder. i continue smiling, slightly leaning my head on hers.

we were at the last stop of the carpet, and olivia turns to me. "can i kiss you?" she asks, wrapping her arms around the back of my neck. i smile, nodding before attaching my lips with her. i close my eyes in the process, feeling olivia kiss back in the way she always does. we both smile against the kiss, placing my hands on olivia's waist as i lean forward, olivia leaning a little back.

we walk up the steps, and i hold olivia's hand. "why are there so many steps?" i ask. "my love, you're at the met gala, that's the least important thing you should be worrying about," she laughs, swinging our arms.

they get me to do the vanity fair interview, and i hold olivia's hand tighter as she tries to let go. "y/n, i can't go with you for the interview, i already did it," she chuckles, looking at me as we stop walking. "will you get in trouble?" i ask. "i mean, i don't wanna risk it," she shrugs sadly, "i'll be just over here, waiting for you, okay?" "okay," i smile, "i'll see you soon." olivia kisses me on the cheek, "good luck."

emma and i smile at the same time, and i hug emma tightly as we squeal, letting go. i stand back, holding a microphone. "y/n," she sighs happily, "the girl everyone's been waiting for." "how are you, emma? i haven't seen you in a minute," i say. "i'm amazing, i've just been so busy. tell me, who are you wearing tonight, spider-woman?" she asks, smiling as she waits for my answer. "i'm wearing gucci tonight, designed by alessandro michele," i answer, "and i've been looking around, seeing so many people interpret spider-woman in so many different ways into their fashion, which i find insane." "you're probably the most special person in the room tonight," emma says, "how does it feel to get to know stan?" "stan was one of the most incredible and down to earth person i've ever met," i answer, "i'm so glad that he reached out to me to put me into a comic book which millions of people have in their homes. i've met stan quite a few times, we go out for lunch, dinner, and just talk like we've been friends for a long time." "do you buy the comics of you?" emma asks. "he sent them to me before he released them into the world," i chuckle, "i read every single one of them, i'm beginning to re-read them too." "that's really sweet," emma smiles, "how're you finding the met? i know it's your first time. olivia and i have been gushing over how beautiful you look and how you stole the whole carpet when i was interviewing her."

"oh, the met's really scary, but thrilling and exciting. i've never done anything like this before, so it's a lot different to serving people in a cafe restaurant and making drinks," we both laugh. "but i'm so thankful olivia came with me," i glance at olivia, smiling as she gives me a thumbs up, smiling widely. "yeah. she's the best thing in my life, i'm so grateful for her to be my girlfriend. it's hard to try and imagine anyone else supporting with me when i achieve things in my life," i answer, "i love her to life. actually..." i look over at olivia, quickly beckoning her over here.

olivia stands beside me, and i bring the microphone to my lips. "this is my girlfriend olivia rodrigo," i introduce to the camera, "if you don't know who she is, you're probably living under a rock. she's the best person ever. i just walked the carpet with her, it was really fun." olivia laughs, and i move the microphone in front of her. "this is y/n l/n," olivia mocks, "she's most beautiful person ever. it was really amazing to walk the red carpet with my girlfriend." "how're you two going? how long have you guys been together?" "three and a half years," olivia answers, "we're going as strong as ever. always are." "yeah, we've gone through a lot together. especially when i found out i was spider-woman, my life got flipped upside down. olivia was the first person i told about me being spider-woman because i trusted her so much. it was just such a relief to tell someone i love who i am, and liv was so accepting of it. we just tell each other everything now," i say, not even thinking about what i'm saying at that point, to be honest, "i'm just really glad i get to be there and support olivia throughout her big achievements in life too. i'm her biggest fan." liv looks at me, smiling widely.

olivia and i start to walk the weirdly long hallway after i finish both interviews for the vanity fair and vogue. "this hallway is so long," i tell liv. "yeah, when i first saw it i thought it was never-ending," she laughs. "liv, i really meant everything i said at that interview," i say, "you're the most important thing in my life. i'm so grateful for you." "everything you said, i would repeat it back to you," olivia says, looking at me, "thank you for coming. i know it wasn't all for me, but i'm glad you did." "kinda glad i did too," i smile, "i'd be at home watching the met gala." "told you it's not bad," she laughs, "now we're gonna talk to everyone before eating." "do you know where we're sitting?" i ask. "there's a picture here..." she says, walking over to the wall just after we walk into the big room.

we scan the tables on the paper, seeing our names on a table in the middle. "alright," i chuckle, pointing to our names. "conan's sitting with us too!" olivia exclaims. i smile, seeing conan's name next to olivia's.

as soon as we stepped about twenty steps into the room, we get separated as multiple people wanted olivia and i to talk to. "hey, y/n!" kendall exclaims. "wow, kendall," i smile, "you look amazing!" kendall dressed as iron man, red and gold dress. "your dress is stunning," she says, looking at my outfit, "i was really hoping you'd come this year." "yeah, i feel like a lot of people were," i laugh. "your first met, how does it feel?" she smiles. "oh, it was really scary at first," i say, "but it's really fun. how'd your night going?" "going amazing," she says, lifting her voice into a higher pitch. "that's great," i smile, "so... does everyone just talk now?" "yeah, it's a cocktail party for a bit, then we'll sit down and eat, then there's a performance, then we see the exhibition," kendall explains. "oh, thank you so much," i smile. "no problem, i hope you have fun tonight," she smiles back, pulling me in for a polite hug.

i start to walk around, getting slightly pulled to the right by my arm. i look, smiling at kylie jenner and dua lipa. "hey girls," i say. "hey! just wanted to have a small chat with you, you're the talk of the party," dua smiles. "oh, that's not good, is it?" i ask. "in a good way, everyone loves your outfit!" kylie reassures. "i hope so," i chuckle. "so, i must ask," dua says, "is it hard being spider-woman?" "it was at first," i answer, "but i've gotten used to it." "better question," kylie says, "was it hard to tell everyone that you're spider-woman? my children absolutely love you." "thank you," i smile, "uh... well, the people that i told before i announced it to the world wasn't hard, it was a relief after i told olivia. but posting the instagram post was really scary, but tell your children i say hi," i laugh. kylie smiles, nodding. "can't imagine how much stress that would be," dua says, "how'd you manage that?" "oh, olivia stopped me from going on social media for a bit and we just hung out, for weeks i couldn't work because the cafe restaurant was swarmed with people, but i'm working now, so it's alright." "all works out," kylie says.

i look around after getting pulled aside by a lot of people, trying to find olivia. i smile as we meet eye contact across the room. i walk over to her, standing beside her and looking at conan's suit. "oh, you look incredible, conan!" i exclaim. "oh, you look amazing, y/n!" conan was wearing a black and red suit, gold webs going across the chest piece. i see a cape behind conan and i ask him to turn around. "that is... amazing," i say, seeing the web pattern continuing on the cape.
