"Told you that you'd like her," Daniela whispered before kissing my cheek.

I giggled and buried my face against her neck — which earned a giggle from lady Beneviento. Daniela held me close as everything livened up, allowing me to remain slightly calm while still enjoying everything around me. I smiled as lady Cassandra pulled Isa close — forcing them to slow dance with her. It's not like they minded anyway if the laughter they let out was any indication.

'I wanna dance,' I internally sighed, shifting my gaze back to Daniela. 'I wonder if she does too...' I let my gaze fall back on everyone else, giving Daniela's hand a gentle squeeze in the process. She returned the action — which brought a smile to my face — before she planted a kiss on my head, giving me just the right amount of confidence to stand slowly and offer my hand to her.

"May I ha-have this dance?"

Daniela's eyes lit up as she placed her hand in my outstretched one, the giggle tumbling from her lips making my heart skip a beat. "I thought you'd never ask."

POV: Mother Miranda

"I see she's caught the eye of your youngest," I hummed to Alcina, watching the new couple begin their dance. 'Reminds me of myself and Mia... Let's hope their fate isn't the same.'

"She has, but she's also managed to make the others protective over her — Isa included."

"I thought you said that wasn't a difficult task?"

"You haven't seen what I've seen," Alcina mused, making me turn my head to give her my full attention. 'Oh? There's more to them?'

"Go on."

"Isa often sleepwalks now, as does Cassandra, and they'll both end up near Daniela's room before snapping out of it."

"Do you think they sense danger?"

"Hard to say, but I'd like to believe they would've told me by now if they did."

'Then what could be causing that behavior? Surely it's not just because they want to keep her safe, right?'

I watched the happy couple end their dance and take a seat, the human huddling into Daniela right away. 'She's afraid of me... Good.' My gaze shifted to the other couples — the two demigods that made my granddaughters happy. 'But they aren't. Then again, neither was Mia... Stop it. Stop thinking about her.'

The mantra to stop thinking about Mia didn't work, in fact, it had the opposite effect — causing me to yearn for her. I took a deep breath in an attempt to ignore the memories, only to be snapped out of my thoughts by a bloodcurdling scream. My eyes snapped over to Daniela, who currently had her sickle embedded into a maid's side, the brunette sobbing as she tried to remove the weapon. [Y/N] was closer to Donna now, meaning Daniela moved her sometime between when I last saw them and now.

"That's enough!" I called, causing Daniela to remove her sickle. "What's the meaning of this?"

"...She..." Daniela's fist tightened around the handle of her sickle. "She thinks she can flirt with my future wife and get away with it. Please, mother Miranda..."

'Future wife? She's already thinking that far ahead? ...Maybe she is as delusional as the maids say,' I sighed and motioned to [Y/N], noticing the way she trembled when my eyes landed on her. 'Good.'

First Person POV

I shifted my gaze to Daniela and nodded, repeating her words in my head. 'Her future wife?' My heart skipped a beat at the thought, the fluttering in my stomach and the smile on my face making it difficult to be the center of attention. The screams of the maid died down in a matter of seconds before the sounds of footsteps and the dragging of a body reached my ears. My eyes lifted to Daniela and I sucked in a quiet breath, trying to not draw more attention to myself.

'Fuck...' I internally groaned. Daniela panted heavily — the occasional hiss leaving her — as she glared after Isa and Hunter, the two dragging the body away. Her grip on her sickle tightened and loosened as if she were trying to calm down by doing so. 'Right, I should help her calm down,' I slowly stood and made my way over to her, nearly freezing when her eyes snapped to me and hunger filled them. 'Don't be afraid. She's your girlfriend, she won't hurt you.'

"Dani," I whispered as I slowly placed my hands on her cheeks, trying not to flinch when she hissed. "How about we go for a walk? Maybe to the library?"

Her eyes cleared for a moment at the mention of the library. "Library..."

"Yeah, let's go," I whispered and moved my hand to hold hers. "Come on, my future wife."

Once out of the main hall, Daniela lifted me and decided to carry me to the library, only for her to take a seat and hold me against her. I slowly wrapped my arms around her neck and sighed, placing a tender kiss on her cheek. She lifted her gaze to lock with mine, the predatory hunger in her eyes shifting from dangerous to something deeper.

"Mine," She growled and tightened her grip. "One day..."

"Dani?" I whispered softly when her fangs threatened to pierce my skin.

"I won't... I can't... Not yet," She shuddered out, planting a kiss where her fangs wanted to enter. "I didn't scare you, did I?"

"At f-first," I admitted with a chuckle. "But only be-because it seemed s-so sudden... Now, I'm just wo-worried about you-."

"I want you to stay away from any maids she may have been close with."

"...What?"

"Just... just until I can make sure none of the others like the same way she did... Please? I-I don't like being jealous."

'Jealous?' I placed my hand on her jaw and tilted her head, ghosting my lips over hers. "Or, you could collar me, then they'll know."

Daniela's grip tightened to an almost painful level, pulling a drawn-out groan from me. "Yeah... I'll collar you, my little baker."

The next thing I knew, I was sitting on a couch and Daniela was nowhere to be seen. She returned a moment later with her hands behind her back, the smile on her face widening when she stopped in front of me. I squeaked after she sat in my lap, letting my arms wrap around her waist while she slid a leather collar onto my neck, a giggle falling from her lips as she traced a finger along the collar before grabbing a small, golden tag attached to the collar.

"Daniela's Girl," She read with pride before connecting our lips.
