'It's time to see if their plan works, I guess.'

I sucked in a deep breath when Mother Miranda eased me to lie down gently on a table. 'I hate going to the doctor normally...' I flinched when she moved my sleeve up, making the blonde pause.

"Breathe," Mother Miranda whispered, her normally cold eyes softening for a split second. "This won't take long — for you, at least. It'll be like going to sleep."

"Yo-you're giving me so-something to help m-me sleep?"

"It's easier," She nodded as she reached for something. "You'll freak out less when I grab it."

"Ju-just don't let m-me watch-" I hissed when I felt the pinch of a needle entering my arm. "No warning?!"

"You would've freaked yourself out."

'...You're right but you didn't need to say it.'

"Yes, I did."

Shock and embarrassment flooded through me as I remembered that she could read minds. "So-sorry."

Mother Miranda laughed as the door opened and gained her attention. "Just relax and sleep. Your 'apology' can be continuing to love and make Daniela happy."

I weakly smiled, slurring my words as sleep finally welcomed me. "I have... no issues... doing... that."

Persephone POV

"Dani, pacing isn't going to help," I scolded the poor girl, knowing she was simply worried about her wife. "Sit. Eat."

"I can't," She whined. "I feel like I'm going to throw up."

"You're worried, I understand, but at least have a seat?"

The vampire sighed but took a seat, her flies buzzing restlessly. "Isa's sure she's still alive?"

"They'd step out of the shadows if she dies, dear. How about you tell me some stories about [Y/N] while we wait?"

Daniela leaned into her Mother and shook her head. "...I just want to hold her."

First Person POV

"There you are," Mother Miranda's soft smile greeted me as my eyes fluttered open. "How do you feel?"

"Odd," I rasped, cringing at the dull ache in my throat. "Hurting."

She reached for something before handing me a vial of green liquid. "Drink, it will help. Anything else?"

"...It feels like I woke up with more than I went to sleep with," I muttered before noticing the tail I had. "Wait... This looks like Isa's tail."

"You nearly flatlined when I gave you the cadou. Isa was here, so they offered to infuse some of their power with you and the cadou. It saved you. They're currently still resting."

"...This doesn't make me related to them, right?"

Mother Miranda laughed and shook her head. "It's more of a 'blessing from a god' deal than anything else."

"I'll take that," I yawned and let my eyes flutter shut. "Five more minutes."

"I'll inform everyone you've decided to rest more."

Miranda POV

Once [Y/N]'s eyes were shut, I turned my attention to Isa, wondering why they hadn't woken yet. 'It's been hours...' I moved over and gently shook the body, pulling my hand back when they growled in protest. 'At least they're still alive.' I left the two in Makaria's care, making my way to the vampires and waiting for Daniela to notice me.
