"You're too kind to someone that's mute."

"That's not possible," Lady Daniela giggled, pressing a kiss on my forehead. "You don't deserve to be treated differently just because you don't feel comfortable talking to people. It's understandable why people are afraid of my family — why they treat us differently — but you don't deserve that treatment."

"Neither do you," I signed with a frown. "You're just doing what you have to to survive."

"...There's no winning this for me, is there?"

"Nope!" I giggled out, tilting my head at her flustered buzzing.

"W-we should eat," Lady Daniela whispered, glancing away from me.

I nodded and slowly removed my arms from her neck, grabbing a plate of food. Once we started eating, lady Daniela wrapped an arm around my waist again, the tension in her body leaving when I leaned against her. A yawn left me after I finished eating, my hand coming up to rub the sleep from my eyes.

"Wanna go check on Isa now?" I perked up at that and nodded, desperately wanting to know more in-depth about how Isa was recovering. "Let's go."

Lady Daniela stood and offered me her hand, waiting for me to take it and stand before dropping our hands to her side and interlocking our fingers. I grabbed my glass of water and tried to push down the heat rising to my cheeks. Lady Daniela grabbed her wine before she lead me out of the library, taking me through the halls and to Isa's room.

Once there, I finished my glass of water and made my way to their side, sending them a small smile when their eyes fluttered open. Isa let out a soft groan as they sat up, returning the smile once they realized who I was.

"You're back," They rasped as they fought to keep their eyes open. "Everything went smoothly?"

"Correct," I signed with a smile, giggling when it took them a moment to process what I signed.

"That's good — I would've felt bad if something happened to you."

"Everything was smooth and the Duke was very nice. Even said you talk about me to him."

Isa's cheeks turned pink as a cough left them. "Uh, ye-yeah, and wh-what about it?"

"Nothing."

"Meanie," They grumbled at my smile, making me giggle at their childishness.

'Cute. Even someone this scary can be childish.'

I moved to sit on the edge of their bed, glancing over their body to make sure they weren't in any pain. They sent me a reassuring smile before lifting their shirt slightly, letting me see that most of their wounds were healed — the ones that weren't were still wrapped in bandages.

"I'm alright," They giggled before shifting their gaze to lady Daniela. "That means you can stop worrying too."

"That's not going to happen," Lady Daniela muttered before flicking the side of Isa's head. "At least, not until you stop being so reckless."

"Ah — so never. Got it."

"You're such a pain sometimes."

"You love me," Isa beamed before breaking into a coughing fit.
