Fallen Allies

Chapter 16 Aces

Everyone was gathered together, the Frostbourne, the Pride Landers, and the Lion Guard were all grouped up in front of Pride Rock, and Akili and Dexter were going through the situation with everyone surrounding them.

"Ever since Spades took my home, he built an army of assassins known as the Aces, they all bear a spade marking behind their shoulder which allows us to know who's involved. Ever since the war against the Outlanders seven years Spades moved the assassins to other lands, they've rampaged through all of our homes" Akili said gesturing to the Frostbourne group. "We were, royalty, warriors, protectors of our homes, but we were still no match, we all fight with a purpose, with a vengeance, we will either win or die trying, retreat is not an option for us" Akili continued on.

"The Pride Lands are the next target for the Aces, and we plan to take the fight to them before they can attack this place, but we still aren't powerful enough, there is a reason for you all to fight this too, and it isn't only to protect your home" Akili said, Dexter cleared his throat and shook his head.

Dexter stepped closer to the lion, "This isn't a smart idea Akili" he whispered, "I know but I need to tell them" he responded, reverting his attention back to the Pride Landers, "my land was always known as the gates to Eternity, but it also has the ability to bring back the dead to a living form, I can bring back Kion" he said causing the royal family to go into shock, Fuli froze, the other Lion Guard members smiled, "wait you're saying we can get my best friend back?" Bunga said in surprise and was responded to by a nod from Akili.

"Then what are we waiting for, let's go" Bunga said but was stopped by Beshte, "woah little B calm down we don't even know how to get there" he said. Akili took a glance at Fuli and saw her go pale, "Shoka, help her get some air, I'll give her a better talk later" he said to the lioness beside her, "I need a member of the royal family to come with me, along with Fuli, having the Lion Guard to accompany us would also be nice to have as well" he said.

Kiara quickly stepped forward, "I'll do it" but she was quickly pulled down by Kovu, "Kiara we can't do that, you know the land, you aren't strong enough for that" he said but Kiara wasn't budging on her decision, "I'm the youngest though, we both know neither of my parents will be able to last in there, and I knew Kion better than you did" she said, Kovu didn't want her to go but he knew it was the right choice and he eventually gave in.

Simba looked doubtful of Kiara's idea, Nala as well but she was grown and could make these decisions on her own and they had to respect that. Akili continued speaking, "now that I'm at a strength that I can grace my home again I can use this to our advantage, I can bring him back but further supports from these lands is needed" he said. He turned to the group beside him, "Lion Guard, I especially want you guys to come with me, all of you" he said, "that's all I got, the Frostbourne plans to stay here for a few more weeks before we start our journey back" he said, turning away from the group and leaving the area.

Akili was quickly approached by Talon, "Akili, we still need to have a plan on infiltrating the land, you don't have the memories at this point" he said, Akili took a deep sigh as I looked to the ground, "I have a plan for that, I don't want to go back there but I don't have a choice" Akili said before he continued to walk away. Talon took a deep breath, "Rani?" Akili shot a glare at the lion, "we don't say her name here Talon, you know that" he growled, "you need to face her again and you know that I know you guys don't have the best history but" "best? Best! You damn right we don't have the best relationship, Talon; you know the story, so I know for a fact you aren't telling me to make up with her" Akili growled slowly approaching the lion, his claws extended.

Talon backed up slowly, "Akili stop, I'm sorry ok, but you know that isn't a good idea, what makes you think she'll even give you the information" Talon said to Akili's amusement, "I still have good relationships with the others, they also have access to the information" Akili said as he turned around and began walking again, "Nguvu is training by now isn't he" Talon said. Akili slowly turned back to the lion, "we are done talking about the tree" he growled, turning back around and leaving before Talon could say another word.

Akili had been walking for a while as he searches for Fuli, "come on Fuli, where are you" he said to himself, moving through each chunk of vegetation, investigating each den but he saw nothing. He walked past a small den between the Outlands and Pride Lands, and he heard movement inside of it. Akili thought there was no way she could fit inside of there but sure enough when he bent down and looked inside, he saw a cheetah, "Fuli? Are you ok?" Akili asked her, a low growl being emitted from the cheetah who pounced the lion.

She unhinged her jaws as she began to snap away at Akili, "how could you not tell me! I would've done that on the first day he died!" She yelled, continuing to snap away at the lion. Akili tried to hold Fuli away, multiple of her attacks have already connected though and blood was beginning to leak from the many cuts that dotted Akili's body, "ENOUGH" Akili yelled, letting out a powerful roar sending a shockwave that shot the cheetah off of him.

Akili kicked himself up and raised his paw which was glowing green and caused multiple spikes of rock to tower over the cheetah, trapping her. Akili scoffed as his paw went back to normal, "he would've torn you limb from limb, he still would, we didn't go then because I wasn't strong enough at the time" Akili growled, "I am strong now, that's why I came here, I have gained the strength to take the fight to Spades, and I can bring back Kion while I do that, and I can trust that we won't die trying" the lion continued as the spikes sunk back into the ground.

"I need you and Kiara to bring him back, it's a ritual that involves two truly loved to bring back the dead, you and Kiara are those two, and I need you to come with me for that, the entire Lion Guard is coming as well" Akili said to the cheetah, "our entire task group has been made, now we just need you" he said looking to the cheetah. Akili continued to ramble on about the situation which slowly softened the cheetah, "we can get him back, you just need to work with me on this" Akili said, "please help me" the words caused the cheetah to look at the lion with sympathy, there was something Akili was hiding but she decided not to pester the lion about it.

Fuli continued to think but eventually agreed, "let's get him back" she said to the lion's amusement, "we leave in a few weeks, I suggest you begin to prepare" Akili said to the cheetah who nodded. Akili bid farewell and ran off into the darkness, the moon had risen, and it was late, Fuli decided to head back to her den and get some rest.

Fuli made it back to her den, she laid down and placed her head into her paws, her mind was racing, "I can finally bring him back" she said to herself before sleep finally carried her away.
