Chapter 37 Divine Blood

Clouds of dust were kicked up as the two lions targeted for their oppositions throats, a shockwave was felt as the two met each other, their strikes each sending their own earth-shattering crash, the roars of the two echoing through the ears of everyone standing by.

As the ground shook and Akili's army looked on, three felines still sat in the cave, Dexter, Talon, and Zana, the black lion stood tall and kept his pure white eyes locked to the leopard as Dexter just stared at the wall, his pupils seemingly vibrating in his eyes.

The golden lion suddenly took a sharp breath and turned to Talon, "their coming, their coming, you need to go out there and get ready to help, we're already short on men" Dexter said, "I'll watch her" he continued as he looked at the leopard.

As Talon made it out of the cave he saw a battle raging over the occupied land, a group of soldiers likely double the size of the previous wave charging through the Frostbourne.

Talon could see members of each army fallen to the floor, three of the Frostbourne taken to the ground while a multitude from the opposing forces were laid to waste.

Talon was quickly surrounded, three lions charging towards him, but he paid it little mind, a bright green illuminating from his paw and stomping it to the ground, three spikes quickly shooting up and impaling the three.

Looking forward, a yellow blur was seen tearing through multiple soldiers and Talon watched as a mountainous hippo ran through the army, causing the troops to be separated from each other, allowing the Frostbourne to better single them out.

Suddenly the blur came to a stop, distancing herself from the battle as she worked to catch her breath, "Fuli!" Talon shouted as he ran to the panting cheetah, "where's Akili?"

A roar sounded through the grounds, Akili retracting his claws, a blue lightning consumed his body, his eyes being covered by a blue glow, "it doesn't end like this" he yelled as he charged back at his opponent.

Muuaji met him head on, both unhinging their jaws as they met, their attacks consistently meeting their targets on both sides but only minor damage being done.

Suddenly a rumbling was heard, and a spike emerged from the ground smashing straight into Muuaji's chest.

A gut-wrenching roar was emitted from the one-eyed lion, he quickly burst into a wave of red dust, moving away from the spike, and the battle all together.

"I had him" Akili whispered, Talon slowly walking up beside him, "doesn't matter, we need him gone to get everything else handled, let's move" he said, Akili huffing at the words but listened, quickly turning and running in the direction of the rest of the battle.

The burning blue quickly faded off of Akili as he ran, Talon being left to lag behind as Akili picked up pace, extending his claws and diving into the pit of bodies.

Tearing apart flesh and turning his fur red with the blood of those he tore open.

Looking to his side Akili saw another lion charging his way, releasing a prideful roar Akili charged, and in one quick pass, he had the decapitated head of the lion in his paw.

One roar echoing, as the battle continued to rage in around him.

But unknown to anyone else, Muuaji slowly made his way to the cave to recover Zana, the red dust he burst into slowly rebuilding itself into his mortal form, the hole in his body completely sealed.
