The wind roared through the air, sending shivers through everyone walking through.

The cold, moist air caused portions of them to freeze over, and snow continued to dump down onto them.

Akili still took the lead, pushing the group on as the snow continued to shred down, "come on everyone, not much longer, we're almost there, just keep pushing!" He yelled through the sounds of the raging storm, "Akili we need to go faster, the Pridelanders are not made for this weather, and this blizzard is only going to get worse, they're going to freeze if we don't go faster" he told his leader as snow continued to barrel down onto them.

"If we speed up, we'll use too much of our stamina, we can't risk that, we're almost there, I can feel the Tree, just keep pushing" Akili said as they could feel as the speed of the snow began to pick up.

Akili let out a loud grunt as he continued to push through the snow, he could hear the shivers of the Pridelanders behind him, while the Frostbourne had all been adapted to harsh environments, the Pridelanders hadn't, if they didn't get shelter fast, they would surely freeze.

Eventually a massive shadow came into view as the entrance to a canyon was silhouetted in the distance, "we're almost there everyone, just keep pushing" Akili yelled as the snow continued to pour down, continuing to blink away shards of ice that formed due to the moisture in his eyes.

Not much later Akili saw a figure that had strong similarities to an old snow owl, flying into the canyon entrance, they would find them soon.

Blood stained the snow, red paw prints and droplets covered a path, the air was cold, the conditions were harsh, and the snow continued to fire down, wiping away the trail of blood as soon as it was laid.

Coughs were heard as blood continued to drop onto the snowy floor, a body seemingly working off fumes dragged itself across the landscape, his body covered in scratches, bites, and gashes.

His body shook with each step, his cries of pain echoed through the sheets of snow, labored grunts sounded with each step until eventually his body gave out.

The lion collapsed to the ground, his blood dying the snow red, the blizzard continuing to roar over him, causing his body temperature to rapidly drop as the cold pierced through his wounds.

The lion, who was persistent on making it to where he needed began dragging himself across the snow, using his front paws to claw his way across the snowy floor.

As he continued pulling himself forward a large canyon came into view, it was hard to see through the thick layers of snow, but it was obviously there, "almost there, come on" he grunted, once again dragging himself ahead.

As the lion got closer, he began to scan through his surroundings, taking note of each inch of land around him, hoping for someone to call for help, or for a sign that he would soon be found.

The lion gathered every ounce of strength and power he had left in him, pushing himself back to his fours and taking in a big breath of the frigid air.

Taking in the cold oxygen, it felt as if ice had coated his lungs, he felt his throat go dry in response to the immense cold his body was impacting with, but it didn't stop him, gathering every ounce of breath he had, he released an earth-shattering roar that shook through the surrounding land.

As the lion expelled all the oxygen he had, he collapsed to the ground, he heard as his roar echoed through the land around him, he had hoped it was enough for the others to hear him.
