Regret.
The one thing that could describe how Spades truly felt about the event sixteen years ago, he allowed his selfishness to take him over and he killed all his friends and family because of it.
His mind had become a slave to Dhalimu and it caused him to slowly go insane over the years, his body was poisoned by the Rage. He always has a sickly feeling and splitting headaches when he isn't using the Rage, so now he never deactivates it, always leaving his powers hovering at the 5% marking, just enough to keep him feeling well.
But there was a cost to Spades constant Rage usage, Dhalimu was able to melt into the mind of Spades, causing him to truly embrace the destructive and murderous side of his life. He was a prisoner of his own mind, and he would do anything to change how his life was now.
Even though he had an amazing family around him, he still felt lonely, there was something missing, and that was his friends, the Fallen Guardians. He knew that he had failed them, he was the reason they were dead, and although he understood why Akili was going to attempt what he said he would, Spades wouldn't allow it. He's already failed too many, he won't fail more.

Akili's mind was slowly deteriorating, the death of his two Frostbourne members slowly built something in him that he had never felt before. It became more and more clear by the day, Akili was gone, and the prophecy had been fulfilled, the Messenger was born.
Only once the Rage is fully awakened does it start to invade the mind and alter how the wielder handles things, and Akili had finally hit that breaking point, this new feeling awakened a deeper need for vengeance than ever before, and Akili truly enjoyed it.
The new feeling was a piece that he had been needing for a long time, it had filled that massive hole torn into him all those years ago and he finally felt like he was full again. If it wasn't for one small piece.
Akili's attention had flipped to the left of him, the wind had picked up and carried a peculiar scent. One that he hadn't encountered in almost five years, "I told her to stay away" Akili mumbled to himself as he continued to stare at the western borders of the Pride Lands.
At that moment a golden lion was approaching Akili, a flat look over his face, "Shoka ran" he said, but Akili was quick to know that he was lying, "you already know the truth Dexter, I'm sure you checked the sisters minds as soon as they said the words" the black lion responded.
Dexter could only chuckle in response to his words, "you're right, but I would like to see yours" he said but Akili was quick to decline, "we can't do that now, something is happening, you can sense it too can't you" said the dark lion who was beginning to feel drowsy, almost feeling as if sleep had already taken him away.
Dexter lifted his head into the air and took in its scent, a look of horror spreading over his face once it set in, "they found us, they're looking for Ulafi most likely" Dexter said, Akili nodding in response.
Akili lifted himself back to his fours, stretching himself out and reverting his attention to the border, "I'll make first contact, get Talon ready and wait for my signal, three on one is generally something I enjoy, but they're too powerful for me to handle alone" he told the golden lion, who nodded and ran off.
Akili slowed his mind as he ran to the border, allowing him to focus on one single thought, why were they here now, of all times, why now?

As Akili got closer to the border, he felt the feeling of power increase with each step he took, these three are a powerful group and they used to even strike fear into Akili. But he grew up and fear was now nonexistent in the mind of the lion.
