Months passed, and Shirayuki's gruelling training didn't slow down in the slightest. After regaining her confidence, she resumed her training to ensure she would be ready for the final selection. Tengen told her about it and how she would have to survive seven nights against demons that would try to tear her apart.

Shirayuki felt he wanted to scare her to make her understand she needed to be serious about it. Even if Tengen was a strict teacher, he was also fair and always pushed Shirayuki to be the best she could be, which she was grateful for.

This evening, Shirayuki was practising her swordplay under the eyes of Tengen's wives, who all had smiles. "She improved so much," realised Makio, making the two others nod. "Thanks to Tengen-sama and her determination," said Hinatsuru before the two felt a small gust of wind behind them.

Turning, they saw Tengen looking at his student, making them smile. "Tengen-sama, you are back," said Suma, making Tengen smirk at the three. Shirayuki stopped mid-swing when she felt Tengen presence and turned toward his direction.

"Welcome back, Tengen-senpai," bowed Shirayuki as Tengen walked toward her. "I see you don't slack off," he said. Shaking her head, Shirayuki tightened her grip on her sword. "I told you I would take it seriously," she reminded, making Tengen smile.

"I know," he said, patting her head before he turned back. "Are you ready for tomorrow?" he asked, making her nod. "I am. I won't fail after all of this," she said, making Tengen laugh.

"I know you won't because you've become flamboyant," he said with a laugh. Smiling, Shirayuki bowed again. "It's thanks to you, Tengen-senpai," she said, making him pause. Tengen looked at his student before turning toward his wives, who smiled at him.

'I understand how Kocho feels,' he smiled before gaining Shirayuki's attention. "Tomorrow, you will be put to the test, so tonight, make sure you rest well," he said, making Shirayuki nod.

Suma walked toward Shirayuki with a smile. "I will make you some curry before you go!" she said, causing Shirayuki's eyes to widen. "...curry," she drooled, earning a laugh from the group before they went inside to prepare the supper.

The following morning, Shirayuki was ready for the final selection. She was wearing a white kimono, white pants, and white sandals. "Be careful out there," smiled Hinatsuru, making Shirayuki nod before a crying Suma ran and hugged her.

"S-Shirayuki-c-chan! I-I'm sure it will be f-fine! D-don't b-be scared, okay?" she cried, making Makio growl. "Stop suffocating her, you wimp!" she said, grabbing Suma by the hair and pulling her away.

"Makio-san is tormenting me again!" complained Suma before Hinatsuru tried to calm them down. "I promise I will return safe and sound," vowed Shirayuki, making the three stop and smile at her before nodding.

Smiling at them, Shirayuki turned to Tengen, who smirked. "I'm off then, Tengen-senpai," she bowed. Then, chuckling, Tengen patted her head. "You better be flamboyant out there," he said, making her nod before she waved goodbye.
