Act 15: A Trial for a New Tomorrow

The silence surrounding Shirayuki felt heavy, almost suffocating. 'What will happen to us?' she thought before hearing a groan at her side. "...where am I...?" mumbled Ayuna, making the white-haired girl turn her head in her direction.

"Ayuna..." she called, gaining the girl's attention. "Shirayuki, you're safe," said Ayuna before trying to sit up. "Why the hell am I tied up!?" shouted Ayuna, trashing around to get rid of her restraints.

"Because you will put into trial," came a gentle voice, making Ayuna pause and turn her head. Ayuna saw a petite woman with dark hair fading to purple. Her purple eyes were fixed on her, but Ayuna could feel a silent anger behind those eyes.

"Trial? Why? I did nothing wrong," scoffed Ayuna, looking away before hearing hand clapping. "Poor child isn't aware of her own condition," said a voice, making Ayuna look at the person and causing her eyes to widen. 'He is massive,' she realised before furrowing her brows. 'Wait, is he...' she trailed off.

In front of her stood a tall and bulky man, his hands clapped together in front of his white, blind eyes. "But we already spared this cute demon..." said another voice, making Ayuna focus on the person. "Maybe we could also spare her, no?" asked the person.

'What kind of hair is that?' wondered Ayuna, looking at the woman with pink and green hair. Observing the woman, Ayuna blinked before looking at herself. 'And is it even legal to have this much-' "I'm sure Oyakata-sama will have his reason here as well!" came a booming voice interrupting Ayuna's thought.

Raising her head to the best of her capacity, she looked at a young man. He had long, bright yellow hair with red streaks. His golden eyes, fading to red, were fixed on Ayuna, making her narrow her eyes.

"I saw this bird before...what is it again," came a soft voice, turning Ayuna's attention to it. She saw a young boy with black hair that faded to pale turquoise. His focus was on Shirayuki, who titled her head. "Are you talking about Shiratori?" she asked, making the boy hum.

Before the boy could answer, a scoff was heard. "Why are we wasting our time talking about birds?" came an angry voice. Ayuna tried to look in its direction, but she was kicked down by the person pressing their foot on her head. "We should just get rid of this demon," they said.

Groaning, Ayuna managed to look at the person. It was a young man with white spiky hair and a scarred face. "...get your dirty foot away from my face," she growled, making the man crazily grin at her. "And what if I don't? What will you do, demon?" he taunted.

*Hiss*

Shirayuki was about to stand up and help Ayuna, but a hissing made her stop. She felt something slowly wrapping around her neck. "I wouldn't do that if I were you," came a voice beside her. "But now that I think about it, maybe you should also be put on trial, Tengen," said the person.

Tengen didn't say anything, but his gaze shifted to the person. It was a young man with black hair and mismatched eyes, one yellow and the other turquoise. "Isn't your student the one who made buddy-buddy with a demon?" he asked before scoffing. "Maybe just like Tomioka, you should disembowel yourself if things turn out bad," he suggested.
