The moon hung high over the Ubuyashiki residence, casting a pale, ethereal light across the grounds. The air was cool, and the night was eerily still, broken only by the soft rustling of leaves and the distant hum of insects.

But inside, a different kind of tension filled the air. There was a quiet urgency born of the war raging far away in the depths of the Infinity Castle. Kanata Ubuyashiki knelt quietly in the lit room. Her hands trembled slightly as she moved her ink brush across a scroll, mapping out the shifting labyrinth of the Infinity Castle.

Her fingers traced the complex network of corridors and chambers. Her brow furrowed in concentration as she pieced together the information being relayed from the slayers still fighting within. She wore a composed expression, but the tightness around her eyes betrayed the inner turmoil she was trying to suppress.

Her family's death weighed heavily on her heart. Her father's gentle voice still echoed in her mind as if it had only been moments since he passed. The image of Kagaya, Amane and her two siblings haunted her thoughts.

"You must stop crying, Kanata," Kiriya's voice cut through her sadness. He didn't turn to face her, focused on the task before him, but his tone carried the authority he now held as their leader.

"We cannot afford to lose focus. The slayers are counting on us," he added as Kanata's gaze flicked toward her brother. His young shoulders were squared with determination, his small hands carefully moving over the map.

Kanata swallowed hard, her throat tightening before wiping her eyes quickly, tears falling in silent streaks. She had to be strong, like her brother. Kiriya didn't falter despite their shared heartache, so she won't either.

"You're right," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "I will focus," she said, resuming the task at hand. As if sensing her resolve, Kiriya finally spoke again, his tone softer this time, carrying an almost tender reassurance. "We won't lose, Kanata. Father believed in us, and so did the slayers. We are not alone," he said.

His words struck something deep within her, reigniting the flicker of hope she had nearly lost. The floor of the Infinity Castle was ever-changing, a living labyrinth that shifted with each moment, but there was still hope as long as they could map it and guide the slayers within.

Outside the room, sitting silently under the moon's gaze, were two figures who had once stood as pillars of strength for the Demon Slayer Corps. Tengen leaned back slightly, his arms crossed over his chest, his eye narrowed thoughtfully as he stared up at the night sky.

Beside him, Shinjuro sat solemnly, his large hands resting on his knees as he gazed down at the ground, lost in his thoughts. The two former hashiras had remained at the Ubuyashiki residence.

Despite their retirement, the weight of the battle being fought within the Infinity Castle sat heavily on their hearts. They had seen too many of their comrades fall, and though they were no longer on the front lines, they knew their role was far from over.

Tengen tilted his head slightly, his gaze shifting toward the closed door where Kiriya and Kanata worked tirelessly. "Kiriya-sama is quite amazing," he said quietly, his voice carrying a note of admiration.
