*GROWL*

The forest hung in an unnatural stillness as if the trees themselves had stopped breathing, sensing the tension that now choked the air. Beneath the shadowy leaves, Ayuna, Kage, and Akira stood facing Konchuu. His once-calm demeanour had cracked, revealing a tortured desperation that made even the seasoned demon slayers hesitate.

"Please...end this," Konchuu's voice wavered, each word heavy with fear. His dismembered arms lay on the forest floor, blood seeping into the earth like dark tendrils, but he made no move to regenerate.

He remained still, eyes wide with the terror of something far worse than his own impending death. The deep growl that had echoed from within him moments before still resonated in the ears of the slayers, growing louder, more insistent.

"He's messing with us," Ayuna murmured through gritted teeth. Her eyes never left Konchuu as she tightened her grip on the hilt of her sword. She took a step forward, her instincts telling her to act, but caution tugging at the back of her mind.

"This has to be some kind of trick. Demons like him don't just surrender," she reminded the two. Kage remained silent for a moment before his eyes flicked toward Konchuu, his expression thoughtful. "Look at him. I don't think it is," he said, making Ayuna glare at him but not respond.

Her instincts were screaming at her to strike, but something undeniably different about Konchuu made her pause. The way his body trembled, not from fear of them but from whatever war was being waged inside him, made her hesitate.

Akira, however, was done waiting. His usual brash confidence blazed in his eyes as he stepped forward, fists clenched. "If he wants to die, I will be happy to oblige," he said, punching his fists together before taking a deep breath.

Kage shot him a warning glance. "Akira, wait-" he tried to say, but it was too late. Akira's impatience had taken over. He lunged at Konchuu with a speed that left the air humming in his wake.

"Light Breathing First Form: Shining Sun Strike!" Akira shouted as his fist shot forward, aimed directly at Konchuu's head with the precision and force designed to kill swiftly. Akira planned to end Konchuu's life before they could even blink.

*GROWL*

But just as Akira's strike was about to connect, a deep, primal growl shook the forest. The sound was so visceral that it sent a shiver through the ground, freezing the air for a heartbeat.

Konchuu's body jerked violently, muscles spasming as though something inside him was clawing its way to the surface. His eyes widened in terror, his mouth hanging open in a silent scream as his form blurred with an unnatural speed. In an instant, he was gone, leaping out of Akira's reach with an agility that defied the laws of nature.

"Damn it!" Ayuna spat, her suspicions immediately flaring. "I knew it was a trap!" she said, preparing to put her third sword in her mouth. However, Kage held up a hand to stop her. "Look closer. His isn't a trick," he said, his voice calm despite the chaos unfolding around them.
