Meanwhile, Daniel was back in his office. After being forcibly chased out of Highlights, Daniel was feeling angry and he didn't want to return home when he was in such a foul mood. The first thing he did when he arrived in the office was to get himself a glass of whisky. He really needed another drink.

He opened his laptop and began to research about Roseanne Anne Lilian. It wasn't long before his laptop screen was littered with numerous articles about Roseanne, the talk shows she participated before, magazines she appeared on and interviews she had given. There was plenty of information about this woman. He downed another glass of whisky. His brows furrowed, jaws clenched.

Why didn't they discover this sooner?

Was this the reason why Roseanne seemed so fearless now?

Kang Daniel swallowed his frustrations as he continued to read up about Roseanne. In Europe, Roseanne was considered an iron woman who had been steadily growing her conglomerate though numerous acquisitions in Europe and the US. Under Roseanne, the Anne Group diversified their business and entered into various industries such as energy, construction and retail.

What Kang Daniel hated the most was the fact that the woman had been playing them all this while. At the time of the reading of Old Madam Ye's Will, everyone thought that Roseanne was a nobody. They even thought that they could get Roseanne to part with the properties that she inherited from Old Madam Ye with just a few million dollars. But at that time, Roseanne acted like a profiteer and had asked for an exorbitant amount of money in exchange for letting go of those properties. It had made her look as if she was in need of money.

He only just discovered that she probably had more money in her bank account than the combined wealth of the Kang and Li family! Roseanne treated them like a fu*king clown! She must have been mocking them inside when they threw her those pathetic offers during the reading! Daniel let out a bitter laugh when he realized their foolishness.

Then another article caught his attention. Failed engagement? Roseanne was engaged? Daniel read through the article in detail and discovered that Roseanne had recently acquired another group of companies in the Far East, namely South Korea, Seoul and Singapore. Could this be the reason why she is here in Seoul?

Daniel's thoughts were interrupted when his phone rang. He frowned when he saw that it was Jihyo who was calling. He was contemplating that possibility that the Li family had already found out about Roseanne's other identity and how they might try to scheme against her once again. As Daniel thought about this rationally, he realized that they couldn't afford to offend Roseanne or her friends right now.

It seemed like Roseanne had powerful connections and Mr. Martin had also warned him that offending Roseanne would be a death sentence to his business. He was still in need of investors ah. A chill ran down his spine as he suddenly thought of what happened seven years ago. 'What if Roseanne decides to retaliate against everyone who wronged her before? My wife is currently pregnant... what if...'

Daniel quickly shook off these thoughts. Even though Roseanne had become successful, she seemed to be keeping a low profile. Since life was going well for her now, surely she wouldn't bear a grudge and be petty about what happened seven years ago right?

"Jihyo?" Daniel answered lovingly. "I am still at the office but I am about to head back home soon... Alright. Just go to sleep first, I know you are tired. Alright... I love you too." After the call ended, Daniel continued to be fixated on the information about Roseanne and he poured through articles after articles.

Roseanne's name was big in Europe but A.R Mall and Boutique was on the brink of bankruptcy in Seoul. This could mean that Roseanne's footing in this country is not yet established. Roseanne would pose a threat to him and his family if she manages to establish herself in this country. If only he could do something and prevent her from establishing her name in this country then...

His eyes widened as an idea came into his mind. For now, he would need to hide Roseanne's identity from everyone, that includes his own family and the Li. And to do that, he could ask his friend who was an IT expert to ensure that all the sites relevant to Roseanne would not appear in searches from the Li and Kang's IP address. However, this would only be a temporary solution. Eventually, he would need to get rid of her, kick her out of this country so that she could not cause any trouble or he could also...

An evil smile bloomed on Daniel's face when he thought about how different Roseanne is now. He remembered how the woman used to worship him. Though Roseanne did not love him, she would give him everything that he wanted.

Fast forward to the present when Roseanne slapped him earlier, anger and irritation could be seen in her eyes. Roseanne seemed to be affected by his presence. This could only mean that after all these years, Roseanne still hasn't completely moved on from him and he could use this to his advantage.

However, unbeknownst to Daniel, a predator had already deemed him as its prey. Especially after what he did to the predator's wife.

Daniel's phone rang again. Seeing that it was his top manager calling, he immediately answered the call. Slowly, his face morphed into an ugly scowl.

"What do you mean they dissolved the contract? Everything? How is that possible? How about the bond?"

"They are willing to pay millions just to dissolve the contract? At this hour?"

"No... What about the album... What?"

"But... Alright, I will call the lawyer and Mr. Park..." Daniel clenched his jaw as he dialed another number on his phone.

Busy?

"Fuck!" he cursed when he was not able to reach President Park's secretary too. He then glanced at the time. It's almost one in the morning. Who the hell would try and cancel the contract at this hour? This was something that only a CEO or chairman could decide. It must be Park Jimin.

Daniel let out an angry grunt as he tried to suppress the anger rising inside him. How could President Park suddenly cancel all the endorsements and pull out all the funds that he invested in Kang Films?

This could mean a loss of hundreds of millions of potential incomes for Kang Films. Park Jimin was a shareholder, this would not be profitable for him at all. So why did he still do it?

Daniel shut his eyes, his head was throbbing. President Park would not do something without a reason. Something must have happened.

Daniel dialed Park Jimin's number once again. He would not stop calling him until he received an explanation from him.
