After breakfast, Park Jimin parted ways with Roseanne rather unwillingly. The conversation they had in the morning kept replaying in his mind and he ended up smiling and humming a tune to himself all the way until he reached his office.
In the afternoon, he received a call from Roseanne telling him that they would be meeting her parents for dinner. It surprised him greatly but he did not oppose to the meeting. Instead, he immediately cleared his schedule for the rest of the day so that he could accompany Roseanne to buy some gifts for Li Jung Wang and Tang Ling. Though the idea of giving gifts sounded like a good gesture, Park Jimin knew that Roseanne's intentions were far from good, especially when she had chosen some expensive jewelry as gifts.
Park Jimin could only laugh inwardly at his wife's antics. Roseanne seemed to be playing a game of cat and mouse with the Li family. Even though she had the capability of eliminating the family and reducing them to a pitiful state any time, she hadn't already done so. She was like a cat, biding her time by sharpening her claws while waiting for the right moment to pounce on her prey.
Moreover, just one word from Roseanne and Park Jimin could destroy the family overnight.
...
"Are you sure about this?" Park Jimin asked Roseanne as he scooted a little closer to her in the car. They were now on their way to meet her father and Tang Ling.
"As I said, I don't want to keep this marriage a secret," Roseanne said before she turned her head to face him. "Earlier this morning, you said that you had investigated what happened seven years ago. What did you find out?" Roseanne asked curiously. She wasn't able to ask him more about this before he had left for work in a rush this morning. It got her thinking about it the entire morning. She was really interested to know what he had found out.
"Well... as you said, I did not find the person who drugged you. So many years have already passed and the people who used to work at that bar are no longer there. But don't worry, I am working on it."
"I am not worried. Anyway you can stop looking for the person who spiked my drink." Roseanne's words immediately made Park Jimin furrowed his brows.
"Why?" he asked.
"Because I have him," she answered, her gaze never leaving his face. She wanted to see how he would react to the news. Would he be disappointed to know that she had a dark side to her?
"You have him?" he asked in surprise.
"I do."
"Is the person still alive?" he asked casually.
"Of course... he is alive." She turned away from him while crossing her arms over her chest. "I need him alive." Debts are meant to be paid and Roseanne meant to collect even the interests of those debts.
Park Jimin decided not to ask any more questions. He turned his gaze to look at the rain falling outside as he fell into contemplation. What happened seven years ago scarred Roseanne. No matter how curious he was about her plans, he knew that he shouldn't open up old wounds. Moreover, Park Jimin was also not in a hurry to know them.
Roseanne was slowly opening up herself to him and he knew that she would tell him these things eventually. Healing takes time and he would wait patiently for Roseanne to accept him wholeheartedly.
It continued to rain all the way until they arrived at the restaurant twenty minutes later. To be honest, Park Jimin still harbored hatred for the Li but it did not mean that he was against the idea of Roseanne introducing him as her husband.
Park Jimin was not dumb, he knew that Roseanne was planning to use his name to scare off the Li for now, not that he mind. Roseanne could make use of him or do whatever he wanted with him and he wouldn't even complain. Park Jimin would gladly be Roseanne's shield so that he could protect her from the people who meant her harm.
