Meanwhile Roseanne was texting on her phone while occasionally glancing up to take in the view in front of her. When she was done sending the images that she had taken of the view earlier to Park Jimin, she smiled, anticipating of his reply.
[Park Jimin: I always knew you loved glitters but no amount of glitters could triumph over your beauty.]
Roseanne smiled while reading the text message before she replied.
[Roseanne: Thank you for your praise, President Park. I think the view would be even better if you are here with me...]
Then Roseanne froze at the realization of how mushy her drafted text message was. She immediately deleted the text message with a straight face and drafted a new one. How could she act like a lovesick fool?
[Roseanne: Thank you. I miss you too.]
After the text message was sent, Roseanne froze. Why did she say 'I miss you too'? When he did not even tell her that he missed her? This...
"So you are now someone important, huh," someone spoke behind Roseanne. Roseanne immediately turned her head to look at Jihyo and saw her malicious stare. Somehow Roseanne wasn't surprised that Jihyo came looking for her.
"Hmmm..." Roseanne nodded before looking back at the glittering pool. Even though it was just the two of them near the pool, Roseanne was blatantly ignoring her. Seeing Roseanne's indifference made Jihyo rage like a volcano had erupted and her blood boiling like hot lava. She was seething but she still managed to keep her emotions under control.
Jihyo was a seasoned actress after all, and had long perfected her acting skills. Though she was really angry, her logical mind kept reminding her that losing control in a place like this could potentially cost her her entire acting career that she had painstakingly built with Kang Daniel's help.
"Well, let me tell you this Rosella or Roseanne or whatever your name is..." She made a deliberate pause and moved a little closer to Roseanne. Then she adjusted her voice lower and said, "If you think your new status can make Daniel take a second look at you, then you are wrong. We have been married for a long time now and we are expecting our first child together. He loves me. He won't spare a second glance at someone who is as dirty as you."
"Hmmm... true." Roseanne nodded, disinterest apparent in her eyes. Actually, Roseanne's mind was occupied on how to explain her last text message to Park Jimin. How could she break the news to him that she had sent him the wrong text message? Should she really tell him that it was wrongfully sent? She was sure that it would only make the latter upset.
How could she divert his attention away from the 'I miss you too' text? Then Roseanne started to rack her brain to think if there was anything she was dissatisfied with Park Jimin. Roseanne thought that she could use that as an excuse to get mad at him, thinking it might be a good distraction.
While Roseanne's mind was occupied thinking of ways to divert his attention away from her last text message, Jihyo was thinking about how she could make Roseanne pay for humiliating her earlier and for ignoring her now. Jihyo swallowed hard. She was so angry that she was clenching her fists so tight hurting her palms in the process.
"Did you think that your current status would make people look at you differently?" she added as she tilted her head towards Roseanne's ears. "No... To me and to everyone else who knows what you did seven years ago... you are nothing but a slut. You are a lowly woman who could sleep with someone you just met at a bar," she said before gauging Roseanne's reaction, thinking that her words were enough to provoke Roseanne.
However, Roseanne seemed to be preoccupied in her thoughts, her eyes were looking ahead. It was as if Jihyo's words didn't affect her at all.
Roseanne's brows furrowed a little when she really couldn't find a good reason to get 'mad' at Park Jimin. Maybe she could get mad for him not saying that he missed her first? But that would make her seem too shallow. Roseanne's heart was in turmoil as she continued to deliberate her next course of actions. She was sure that the latter was already smiling from ear to ear after reading her text. He might even think that she had already fallen in love with him. This...
For Roseanne... this was something that needed an immediate solution.
"What? Aren't you going to say something?" Jihyo asked. "A monkey can wear crowns and diamonds but it would forever stay as a monkey. Just like you. Wearing expensive clothing and jewelry does not change who you truly are inside."
"Did I hit a nerve? Rosella?" Jihyo added with a small smile on her face. As expected a monkey would always be a monkey in front of a lion. Of course, in Jihyo's mind, Roseanne was the monkey and she was the lion.
"Mrs. Kang." Roseanne moved her head towards Jihyo. As their faces were a little too close for Jihyo's comfort, Jihyo took a step backwards. She didn't want to be staring so closely at Roseanne's smiley face which was just plain irritating to her.
"Your face is originally so-so. Not that pretty nor ugly. But your attitude stinks making you an overall ugly person. You are getting old too. After having a child or two, I can only imagine how you would look like. I wonder how long can CEO Kang endure this?" Roseanne lifted her lips in a smirk.
Of course, Roseanne was aiming for a bullseye. After all, Jihyo's non-stop buzzing in her ear was disturbing her train of thought. How dare someone like Jihyo disturb her peace as she was thinking about her husband? Inwardly, Roseanne felt that what she said should be enough to make Jihyo shut her mouth. In fact, she was feeling somewhat righteous for telling Jihyo the truth.
Jihyo looked beautiful now only because procedures that were done to her face before. Of course, no one would say anything about this. After all, almost all actors and actresses had undergone cosmetic surgery to enhance their looks. Moreover, anyone who is skilled in applying make-up could even turn an ugly duckling into a swan. Jihyo was someone who paid close attention to her make-up and her make-up skills were not too bad.
Roseanne felt that she did the right thing to give Jihyo a tip and some words of wisdom. After all, Daniel had already touched his secretary. Who knows who might be the next woman he would sleep with? She was just doing a good deed by warning Jihyo in advance.
And just as she expected, Jihyo glared at her like she was about to strangle her. In response Roseanne stifled a laugh at Jihyo's reaction.
If people would look at the two right now, they would think that they were having a very cordial conversation because at this moment, Roseanne looked extremely gleeful as if she had just said the funniest joke on the planet.
