Roseanne arrived in Seoul on Thursday afternoon. The first thing that came to her mind was to look for Lisa. She wanted to find out if J Hope and Lisa have cleared the air.
But to Roseanne's surprise, Lisa was not in Seoul. The latter only sent Roseanne a text to tell her that she was currently in Thailand for filming. In the end, Roseanne just went straight home to rest up. She wanted to be in the best condition to attend the Fashion Week's after-party the next day.
....
Friday.
Fashion Week was a week-long event, packed with shows and events that stretches from morning to night. People from all over the world would specially visit Seoul during this time to witness their favorite designers showcase their summer collections.
Aside from rich heirs and heiresses, models, actors and actresses would also attend this event, not just to enjoy themselves but to build more connections with the international market. The Fashion Week's networking possibilities were endless. Because of this, everyone would want to make sure they leave an incredible impression on the high-level individuals in attendance.
Of course, one way to leave an impression was to have a stunning outfit. That is why all the attendees would make sure that they look their best, especially for the cameras. After all, Fashion Week would be filled with fashion reporters and influencers who tend to discuss the outfits of everyone after the show - both the good and the bad.
Roseanne, on the other hand, was attending Fashion Week with the intention of networking with key decision-makers of famous luxury brands to convince them to transfer their flagship store to the new Harmony Isle, a rebranding of A.R Mall and Boutique, set to open in August. Though the Anne name alone should be enough for brands to put their trust in Roseanne and her new mall, she still felt the need to show up at Fashion Week and build some connections personally.
And of course, Roseanne did not forget to be an ambassador and showcase J Hope's own collection of clothing for everyone to see.
"Your day is quite packed today. Mr. Jung had scheduled for us to see two shows and attend two after-party events. We have prepared everything, including the change of clothing for every show and also for the parties," Lia informed Roseanne.
"Got it," she answered. "How about the thing that I asked you to do?"
"It's done. They won't be able to show their faces in any after parties tonight," Lia answered with a straight face. Roseanne style of plotting against her targets had always been this way. It would be slow at first then Roseanne would strike and finish off her target in a day or two. However, Lia was sure that Roseanne had another plan to deal with the Li and Kang family later.
"And the Tang family?" Roseanne asked as she stared at her reflection in the mirror. Being the eldest daughter of the distinguished Tang family had always been Tang Ling's pride. She always flaunted her status in front of Roseanne and Iris Anne before. So what would Tang Ling do if this status was taken away from her?
"Everything is prepared president. The meeting is set," Lia answered.
A small smile escaped Roseanne's lips as she continued to watch her sleek hairstyle and her bronze eyeshadow that enhanced the depth of her eyes. "Perfect," she uttered in a low voice which sent some shivers down Lia's spine.
Although Lia was older than Roseanne by a few years, Roseanne was the more mature one between the two of them. Lia even thought that Roseanne was perhaps ten times more vicious and cunning than the late Madam Anne. Roseanne's methods were extremely unique. Even though Lia had been working beside Roseanne for years, she could never be really sure what is going on in Roseanne's mind.
"Let's go," Roseanne said as she grabbed her handbag and walked out of the room. Today was going to be a very long day.
....
Contrary to how the magazines portray Fashion Week, it is not as peaceful and glamorous as it seemed. The backstage would be extremely chaotic as photographers, stage directors and other individuals would scream at anyone who risked delaying the show. However, all the ugliness behind the scenes would only be known to those who were actually there.
After attending two shows, Roseanne and J Hope had dinner together in one of the most luxurious bars in Seoul. Though, Roseanne was curious about the matter between J Hope and Lisa, she stopped herself from asking any questions about them as she did not want to ruin the mood. After dinner, Roseanne changed into another new outfit before she left for an after-party. It would be held at a hotel and J Hope was going to accompany her there.
At the same time, Jihyo was also on her way to the same hotel with Tang Ling.
"As expected of my lovely daughter. I'm sure you will stand out later when we arrive at the hotel," Tang Ling immediately praised her daughter the moment she got inside the limo that Jihyo was riding to the event. Jihyo looked ravishing in a yellow sleeveless A-line gown that was adorned with sparkling gemstones. With her long and perfectly curled hair, Jihyo looked just like a deity.
In response, Jihyo give her mother a blooming smile. She was also excited to see how Daniel would react to her entire look for the night. She looked forward to the attention she would get when she steps onto the red carpet.
Like most public figures, Jihyo was very particular about her image. She wanted to portray a kind and gentle image, just like her mother. Because of this, when it came to filming and roles, she only wanted to play the role of a kind-hearted and gentle protagonist. She would reject all other roles and choose not to participate in a film which didn't offer the role she wanted. Moreover, with Daniel's influence, she had been able to get the roles she wanted. Since Jihyo had a pretty and innocent looking face, coupled with the roles she usually played, she immediately rose to fame.
Even though Jihyo was now an A-list star, she was still not satisfied with what her achievements. Her discontentment stemmed from the way Daniel's mother perceived and treated her. Daniel's mother, Yang Lina was someone very traditional and she always hated the fact that Jihyo was an actress. Aside from this, Yang Lina didn't like Jihyo because the latter chose her career over starting a family. Like a typical mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relationship, Yang Lina and Jihyo did not get along well for years.
Although things got a little better when Jihyo finally got pregnant, Yang Lina often compared Jihyo to other heiresses who were the same age as her, who already had children of their own. Moreover, she kept reminding Jihyo that all she had right now was because of Daniel. Because of this, Jihyo was adamant to prove herself to her mother-in-law.
This was the reason why she wanted to establish her own fashion brand. She was also determined to do so by her own efforts, without relying on Kang Daniel's connections or Kang Daniel himself for help. She wanted to show her mother-in-law that she was capable.
At this point, Jihyo was feeling really excited to attend the after party for two reasons. One, this would be her first time attending an event with a new identity: fashion designer. She would not just be known as a lady of the Kang family or an A-list actress. Two, she was wearing her own design.
Weeks ago, when Jihyo saw the gowns that Daniel bought for her to wear for tonight's event, she almost tore the clothes to pieces simply because they looked so unflattering on her. The gowns neither flatter her baby bump nor accentuate her curves that developed during her pregnancy. This gave her an idea to design a gown that would look good on pregnant women, a gown that screams dashing and beautiful.
"Are you excited to see your husband? I'm sure Daniel will be shocked to see you look like this," Tang Ling said with a big smile on her face.
"I am... I can't wait to see him falling in love with me all over again." Jihyo gave her mother another smile before she sent a text to Daniel.
The mother and daughter duo smiled at each other, unaware that they would soon have a taste of Roseanne's wrath.
