Confusion, betrayal and disbelief

Tang Ling and Jihyo both widened their eyes at Roseanne's words as they stared at Daniel . They saw how the latter's face turned pale which was a dead giveaway that Roseanne was speaking the truth.

'Kang Daniel met Rosella behind her back not once, but twice? Moreover, he knew something seemingly important about Rosella but didn't tell her?' Confusion, betrayal and disbelief immediately clouded Jihyo's gaze.

When Daniel saw how his wife was about to burst in rage, he immediately excused himself and led his wife to the lounge, with the confused Tang Ling in tow.

"I was trying to deal with this on my own as I didn't want you to feel stressed. You are pregnant and I feared that this will affect you and our baby," he instantly explained after sitting down his wife next to him.

"What are you talking about? Didn't you see how they were looking at us with ridicule? They were looking at us as if we were clowns!" Jihyo seethed in anger. Although she was angry, she did not forget to lower her voice. Then she glanced at Roseanne who was happily talking to the group of men who approached them earlier. Her smiling face and crescent eyes looked blinding to Jihyo.

"I think it is better if we talk about this at home," Tang Ling butted in. Though she was also curious, she knew that Jihyo might not be able to control her emotions and throw a fit. If that happens, it would hurt her reputation and affect her acting career. It might even affect her chances of securing investments for her fashion brand.

"I agree..." Daniel nodded.

"No!" Jihyo immediately interrupted her husband. "I want to know, now!" she demanded. She felt that her husband had betrayed her for not telling her something really important.

While she still seem relatively calm on the outside, she was struggling with her anger inside. She was trying hard not to lash out at Daniel. She was disappointed that he was starting to keep things from her. 'They have been married for seven years already. Is this the start of their marriage breaking down?'

"Baby..."

"Don't Baby me!" she hissed. "Tell me! Did you sleep with her? Is that why you didn't answer my calls a while ago? Is that why you were nervous when you met us outside just now?"

"No! Of course not!" Daniel answered. "It's just that I don't want you to be stressed out. Okay?"

"Then tell me? Why are you hiding something from me? Now people will think that I am some bimbo! Is this what you want? People thinking that your wife is uninformed? Did you hear Rosella's ridicule earlier? Dan! This is what she wants! She wanted me to get angry and to lose my trust you and she... she is winning!" she said almost in one breath.

Jihyo's face was now red from trying to suppress her anger. She really wanted to be reasonable and listen to her husband's explanation but it seems that Roseanne's words keep on repeating in her mind.

Daniel looked at the stressed expression of his wife and then at Roseanne who did not even look their way. She seemed to be enjoying her conversations with some of the big names in the fashion industry. Helplessness became apparent in his eyes before he let out a sigh.

"Rosella is a part of the Anne family from Europe. She is now Roseanne Anne Lilian, the CEO of Anne Group, a conglomerate headquartered in London," he said before he stroked his wife's hands. "I just found out about this a while ago and tried to hide it from you because I know this will only stress you out."

In response, Jihyo looked at him, her face unfathomable. But before she could say a thing, her mother already reacted.

"Anne Group? Iris Anne? She was from the Anne family?" Tang Ling asked, her eyes wide before she covered her mouth in shock. Her other hand immediately made its way to her chest, feeling that her heart was beating faster.

So Iris Anne was someone from the Anne family? To Tang Ling who had schemed against her many times in the past, this information was something that she never expected. Fear instantly made its way to her ashened face. "What are we going to do now?"

This was the first question that came into Tang Ling's mind. Then Park Jimin's name came into her mind and she became even more afraid. Since Roseanne was actually someone with this kind of background. It would be hard for them to target her now. And the worst thing was Roseanne has the capability to retaliate for the things that she did seven years ago.

"Dan... I need some water," Jihyo said, her gaze was on Roseanne. Though, Jihyo was not that familiar with Anne Group, she had read about that company somewhere and she knew that it was even bigger than both Li Industries and Kang Film combined.

Honestly, Jihyo did not know what to feel about this information. She was not sure if she should be angry or scared. However, the fact that she did not know about all this earlier, that led to her embarrassing herself in front of so many people, made her fumed inside.

She slowly let out a long sigh as she composed herself. She then watched as Daniel walked towards the waiter to ask for a glass of water. "Mother... We can't let Father know about this," she said. She was also intending to tell Daniel to hide this information from his father and mother.

"Why?" Tang Ling asked, a little confused. She was intending to let her husband know about this so they could make plans regarding Roseanne. On top of that, she was now even more adamant to ask for the Tang family's help in dealing with Roseanne. After all, Roseanne was not just someone who has a powerful husband but also a powerful identity.

"If Father knows this, he might change his mind about Rosella and agree to give her the properties in grandma's last will and testament. You know how Father always loved to get close to people who would benefit him the most. Seeing Roseanne success in business, Father might want her to inherit the company. If this happens Yeonjun might lose his future CEO position," Jihyo patiently explained.

"What we can do now is to make Father hand over the CEO position to Yeonjun as soon as possible, before he realizes that Rosella is no longer the worthless daughter from seven years ago," she added, her eyes looked sharp while eyeing Roseanne. "As for her... I will deal with Rosella while you ask for Tang family's help. I will call you if I need your help."

Tang Ling wanted to open her mouth and object to her daughter's plans. After all, dealing with Roseanne should be fine. However, her husband was a different matter and Jihyo still doesn't know who Roseanne's husband is.

"You stay here, Mother." Jihyo's words interrupted Tang Ling from saying what was on her mind.

"Where are you going?" she asked, though she could already guess that Jihyo would go and confront Roseanne as the latter was already alone and standing near the sparkling pool.

"I will talk to her," Jihyo said. 'Does Roseanne think that she could get Daniel now that she has achieved some success and is someone rich and famous in the business industry? This is something that she would never allow to happen.'
