Seeing Roseanne's provocative smile, Li Jung Wang and Tang Ling instantly fumed. Li Jung Wang balled his hands into fists, his body was also trembling in anger.
"Li...." Tang Ling uttered timidly. Li Jung Wang glared coldly at Tang Ling which made her shudder. "This is your fault!" He shouted angrily.
He gritted his teeth as he rose from his seat. "Once Rosella's name is removed from the family registry, it will be harder for me to transfer the shares and properties in my name when she dies!"
Tang Ling stared at her husband with wide eyes. "You... you were planning to..." She deliberately covered her mouth and swallowed her words as if she had stumbled upon a dark secret. The truth was, Tang Ling already knew that he was planning to do something to Roseanne ever since the reading of the Will. Even though Li Jung Wang kept this from everyone, Tang Ling had her sources to find out about such things.
Li Jung Wang was an extremely ruthless man who would prioritize benefits above all. Ever since the reading, he had been plotting against Roseanne. On one hand if she wasn't able to find a man to marry within three months, she would forfeit the inheritance. But if Roseanne managed to find a man to marry, then the inheritance would be hers. He just couldn't leave this to chance.
So, he was planning to send an inside man to seduce and marry Roseanne. He would wait for Roseanne to claim the inheritance before killing her off. Then he would attempt to transfer the inheritance back to his name. It was a perfect plan to Li Jung Wang. However, he didn't expect that Roseanne would be married just a week after the reading.
News of Roseanne's marriage was a shock for both of them. They did not expect that Roseanne to act so fast. Because of this, he had to change his initial plans and come up with a plan B. His new plan was to convince Roseanne's husband to divorce her so that she would have no one to rely on in a country that was almost foreign to her. He believed that it would be easier to scheme against Roseanne then.
Moreover, He was even prepared to bribe Roseanne's husband into leaving her with the promise of money or property. It would be a win-win situation for everyone. His plan might have worked if Roseanne had just married a random man from the streets but who would have thought that she would marry a tycoon? And not just any tycoon but someone who was highly influential in South Korea.
Li Jung Wang tried to calm his nerves as he took a seat, his face solemn. Maybe he could still turn the situation around to his advantage. "Do not let Jihyo or Yeonjun know of this matter. This includes the Kang family too," he said in a grim tone.
Hewas protective over his daughter and he wanted to make sure that she would not come to know about any unhappy news. He didn't want his daughter to be stressed over this matter which might affect her pregnancy.
"We shall discuss our next step at home. Let's go," He said before walking out of the room. Park Jimin was not someone they could offend. They needed to be extra careful. Moreover, with a strong backing like Park Jimin, Li Jung Wang believed that Roseanne could easily have her revenge against the Li family. But he would never allow that to happen.
...
"Why didn't you become an actress?" Park Jimin asked as he watched Roseanne touch up her make-up. They were currently riding in the car, on their way to another restaurant near Lotte for their dinner.
"The pay is not good," Roseanne answered honestly. "I love money. Being an actress could give me the fame but it doesn't make me as rich as a businesswoman."
"Hmmm..." He nodded.
"Your acting wasn't bad either. Why didn't you become an actor?" Roseanne asked as she put on a blood red lipstick.
"My acting is too good," Park Jimin responded. "People will only want me and the other actors wouldn't stand a chance. Wouldn't that be too bad for the industry?"
Roseanne laughed and felt herself relaxing. This man was really shameless. "By the way, where are we heading to? I am so hungry," Roseanne asked, changing the topic. She was truly hungry ah. A while ago, she forced herself not to eat anything, fearing that they might have spiked the food. Though she might seem a little paranoid, she was just being cautious against them.
Now, it was almost eight at night and she still hasn't had anything in her stomach yet.
"My favorite place," Park Jimin said before giving her a smile. "Don't worry. I'm sure you will love it. They have your favorite."
"How did you know come to know about my favorite food?" she raised an eyebrow.
"It's a secret." He gave her a wink. Roseanne only narrowed her eyes at him in response, suspicion written over her face.
"Was it J Hope?" Park Jimin just smiled. "This was part of the deal wasn't it?"
Seeing as he was not intending to reveal anything, Roseanne decided not to ask any more questions. She shall just wait and see. Then she turned to look out of the window, watching the traffic and buildings as they passed by. For the rest of the journey, they were both silent, each occupied with their own thoughts.
Roseanne was heartened that Park Jimin cared so much for her. He had been very considerate and patient with her. He was always there to pamper her and would do anything for her. He was comfortable to be himself around her, showing her a side to him that she never knew. Like how he could be so cheeky and shameless.
But Roseanne knew that the man was more than the sweet person that she usually sees.
Roseanne remembered how Park Jimin attacked Kang Daniel's company just hours after what happened at the club. She also knew how Park Capital had been terrorizing Li Industries for years now. Park Jimin did not even hesitate to surrender his shares in Li Industries over to her. It was as if he had already prepared everything in advance and he was just waiting for Roseanne to arrive to begin his revenge against the people who hurt her in the past.
"We are here," Park Jimin cheerfully said before he got out of the car first so that he could open the door for Roseanne. Then he held out his hand to Roseanne to help her out of the car.
His gentlemanly actions earned a bright smile from Roseanne. He continue holding onto Roseanne's hand as he led her inside a building that was just a block away from Lotte.
"This place serves pan seared tuna. I know you will love their tuna. This restaurant sources their tuna from Maldives," he explained as he led Roseanne inside an upscale restaurant located at the fifteenth floor of the building.
"I frequent this place because of their dumplings. I remember you loved dumplings when we were kids. The dumplings here tastes exactly like the ones from the orphanage," he continued.
"Really?"
"Hmm..." He nodded before asking the waiter about their reservations. The restaurant had good lighting and a peaceful ambiance. Though there were no private booths, the tables were set far from each other to give diners their privacy.
"Candle lights?" she raised an eyebrow at him as they were led to a table that was set near the floor to ceiling glass windows.
"It is a date." Park Jimin winked at her before he pulled a chair out for Roseanne and gestured for her to sit down. "First date."
