- you met in the first year of college, as the both of you decided to sit at the back of the class

- Derek, per usual, was quiet and reserved and left the first conversation up to you because just staring at you isn't going to be a starter, is it, Derek?

- because the professor assigned pair work and you didn't know many other people, you and Derek worked together

- and, MAN was that guy awkward at first (lots of staring, quiet moments, and strange acts of service), which made you think he was just a shy person

- after that one time of working together, Derek made sure to work with you every following time

- you started to notice him getting slightly jealous when you'd have a bigger group project to do and you discussed ideas and plans with others, especially guys

- but Derek suggested studying together at the library one evening and you ended up staying there for a few hours because it was the first month of college and both of you were completely unfamiliar with the content

- and after Derek had to run off 'to help his friend with something', you discovered his secret

- he, of course, was instantly scared and didn't come to class for three days, avoided you like hell

- but after you found him in his dorm, knocked on his door, and confronted him, saying that you were all right with how he was, he finally accepted it

- that didn't mean that he didn't have to hide the massive crush that he had on you

- the same went for you

- lots of studying in the library which then turned into you joining the gang and helping with whatever they were dealing with

- him giving you his jacket whenever the nights got too cold and you'd still be trying to research some questions, which also included falling asleep on the table and Derek taking care of everything and getting you to bed

- becoming good friends with Lydia and Stiles, constantly urging Stiles to make a move

- Derek noticed that the group liked you a lot and they saw that he liked you too

- constant teasing from Peter, Scott, and Isaac about Derek liking you but Derek denying everything

- getting worried whenever he was missing class because that meant that he was in trouble

- but sometimes you were in trouble with them, which made the teasing from your roommate and other college friends even worse

- Derek revealing his feelings toward you after a massive fight and getting more hurt than usual

- ''Derek, please, you're going to make my heart jump straight from my mouth,'' you worried about him, seeing him in yet again a horrible state of health

- ''I'll heal, don't worry,'' Derek reassured you. ''but I don't think I can take not being with you any longer. It's... driving me insane.''

- you couldn't have been more pleased to hear that Derek finally told you that, which, of course, you instantly reciprocated and the two of you embraced

- helping him heal as fast as possible and him comforting you that it barely even hurt

- but of course, when you got hurt in any way possible, he'd go insane, making you take a day off and taking care of you

- ''DEREK, PLEASE, I'M FINE.''

- ''LOOK AT YOUR HAND. IT'S BARELY HEALING. IF YOU DON'T STAY IN BED-''

- you endlessly trying to reassure him that just because you weren't a werewolf, it didn't mean that you were dying with every scratch you got

- but of course, both of you enjoyed this time together

- staying at the loft together and spending many nights there or at the dorm where you'd wait for your roommates to leave, so you could be alone

- Derek often wanted to skip class, but you made sure to get as much attendance as possible to pass the class, as both of you enjoyed driving around and getting takeout than sitting in whatever class you had

- but you still convinced Derek to study even though he insisted that ''now he didn't have to go on private library study dates to spend some alone time'' because he confessed that it had been a way to get close to you

- convincing Derek from time to time to go to a college party together

- but sometimes it was getting drunk Stiles and Scott out of high school parties and basically being mom and dad to them

- you and Derek enjoyed your time at college together with lots of studying, driving around, and spending time both with your friends and alone
