''Mom will be back late,'' Scott informed you, as the two of you walked inside the kitchen.
You nodded, remembering well how your mom always worked late shifts at the hospital.
''Yeah, she told me. But I doubt I'll be able to fall asleep immediately anyway,'' you told and Scott hummed in agreement.
''I know we- we don't really talk about that stuff but-'' he began and you smiled, leaning against the kitchen counter.
''I promise nothing- he didn't do anything. It's just that... I grew tired of the way things were. Constant lying, anger issues, and then I found out he had been talking to another girl,'' you shortly explained everything.
''Oh, shit...'' Scott commented in a serious tone.
''Yeah,'' you breathed out and looked down. ''For a while... and it seemed more serious than just a regular flirt... well, not that that would have been fine anyway.''
''So... you're done with him, right?'' Scott asked cautiously.
''Oh, yeah,'' you replied with confidence and smiled. ''I left him a note while he was out and packed my shit to go. He might... call or text but he doesn't know I'm here.''
''Good,'' Scott answered, promising that you could stay with them as long as you needed to.
''Thank you, Scott,'' you quietly said.
Soon, evening came, and you rested on the living room couch made for you. You opened your laptop to check some social media and let your mind get lost in the nonsense that was mindlessly watching YouTube. You had both earphones in, so as not to bother Scott. You had even turned on some music. Good songs as well. Nothing helped to distract you from what you had left behind at home. The thoughts of the mess of a relationship you had. With an irritated motion, you took out your earphones.
The TV was right in front of you. The same Playstation 3 stood connected to it that Scott and you used to play games on for hours. Before that, it was the second gaming console of the same brand, of course.
You stood up from the warm couch and ducked down to look at the gaming assortment. Of course, you had brought some games with you, but it would take up too much time to download the game anyway. As you imagined yourself playing the games, nothing stood out to you. At least not until your eyes landed on your favorite title.
Red Dead Redemption.
You could always boot up the game and roam around The Nuevo Paraiso with John Marston. But you weren't sure how far Scott had gotten with the game and perhaps that would be a better choice for when the two of you sat down to play it. You had managed to finish it and fallen in love with the game, but you weren't sure Scott had too.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
And that title earned a sigh of relief from you, as you could practically feel yourself playing through the tense missions with Soap Mactavish, Ghost, and Price. Hell, you knew that if not the missions then at least the characters would bring you the comfort you needed. Truthfully, gaming characters often brought way too much comfort for you.
At least thirty minutes had passed and you were your favorite mission Contingency. You rubbed your eyes and slightly stretched out while waiting for the enemy patrol to pass by. Suddenly, you heard loud steps behind you on the staircase.
