- somehow this wasn't such a surprise for Derek, as the supernatural world and all things mystery practically welcomed you and, even though he had tried to conceal his ways, you were quick to figure out what he was
- actually, it all started out when you noticed that there was something different about Derek and, having seen so much in the series, you had a few pieces of the puzzle laid out in front of you
- not like it was real, right?
- well, soon, some things about Derek, Scott, and some of the others started to concern you, and, just like Sammy would, you did some research
- ''Get this...'' you would say to yourself, as you had a few notes written down and you paced around your room. ''Seems to be a werewolf, boys.''
- you paused whichever episode you were watching and sat on your bed. The guy that, not only lived in your neighborhood, but one you also had a massive crush on, was a mythical beast. These things only happened in tv shows, right?
- wrong
- but that wasn't a bad thing. not like you were a hunter like the Winchesters
- however, that did mean that you had inherited all the knowledge about the beasts over the years and could use that to your advance
- you had thought of at least a hundred different ways to break the news to Derek, to reveal yourself to him as the all-knower about werewolves. You did, indeed, stay up at night to read about them and even pile up some notes in a journal he, hopefully, wouldn't find
- but you decided to take the sneaky and, quite honestly, devious approach
- quite often, you found yourself making wolf jokes, cracking a few interesting facts, but only stating that you were inspired because of Supernatural
- Derek FRANTICALLY GOOGLED WHAT THAT WAS, thinking that it was some sort of book of beasts, but calmed himself down after seeing that it was a show about two brothers saving people... hunting things... the family business
- so he sighed and continued on with his day
- however, soon, you had grown tired of teasing him and needed to come clean. The way it happened was sudden. You had stopped making the constant jokes and teasing him. After all, he was still your crush, and, knowing Derek quite well, he wouldn't be the first one to confess his feelings to you
- it all happened on the same day, the same hour of that day when you confronted him both about your feelings and about his true self
- ''I know, Derek. I've... known for a while,'' you sighed and smiled, looking at him. ''If I cared about that, I wouldn't like you... not at least in the way that I like you... which is a lot.''
- and after that Derek could stop lying about two things: about being a werewolf and about how much he cared about you
- so then, of course, you had to show him an episode, starting with the pilot
- ''How many times have you seen it?"
- ''The show or the pilot episode?'' you laughed back
- ''This episode in particular,'' Derek motioned to the screen
- ''Only six times, I think,''
- ''I was expecting at least twenty by how much you talk about it,''
- Derek enjoyed the episode quite a lot and the two of you continued watching the show, now understanding all the references, quotes, and jokes you made about the show
- he, of course, got you some Supernatural inspired necklaces and bracelets, as, of course, those things and symbols still had powerful meanings in your lives too
- but, best of all, he made you a special Dean Winchester-inspired mixtape on a cassette that he played when you went on road trips
- since the show was known for its massive number of gifs for absolutely everything in the world, Derek sent you a lot. A lot. A LOT. he even made his own, inserting your names
- if Dean was your favorite, you, of course, gifted Derek Dean's famous necklace from the first seasons of the show, and your boyfriend, knowing what it meant, cherish it so much
- when researching things about whatever you needed to deal with in your own world, like usual, you would say ''Get this'' to whomever and put the Supernatural soundtrack in the background, as the music played and made studying books and researching on the internet a lot more fun
- sometimes you even pretended that Derek's car was the impala, Dean's precious baby, and you called it sweet nicknames. Derek, somehow, wasn't even against that
- in general, the two of you enjoyed the show and, as Derek happened to be quite knowledgeable about the world, would often add even more interesting facts about whatever Dean, Sam, and Castiel were fighting on the show, making the experience so much better. it was wonderful to share your interest with Derek
