- when you moved to Beacon Hills, Derek, just like everyone else, found interest in you. It's not every day that someone new moves there or, even better, someone outside of the U.S.

- although you knew English well enough, you talked to your family in your native tongue, which surprised some people but not ones that had talked to you long enough to spot a small hint of an accent when you talked to them

- that included Derek

- although Derek showed fascination he was scared to ask you personal questions about your home, Stiles was much more forward with getting to know you at first

- and although Derek denied it, he showed slight jealousy toward Stiles. Who would have ever imagined that? He's not jealous though, he told himself.

- teased him slightly, but he would never admit it, saying that the group should leave you some room to breathe

- no one believed him

- he tried avoiding you at first, as he was scared of letting himself close to you, but you joined the gang after a while and discovered their secrets

- which also meant that you often had to sneak out and lie to your family

- ''Not sure what you told them, but your heartbeat was pouncing like crazy,'' Derek would say when you entered his car.

- ''Well, they saw that I was getting into a car with you,'' you would tease him and laugh

- ''W-wait, what did you tell them?'' Derek would ask nervously as you two drove off

- and you answered him with the exact words you had told your parents, stating how you were driving off to a date with the guy in the car. But Derek merely shook his head and chuckled, uninformed of your flirting

- but you would never flirt in English

- plus, after one evening of drinking together, Derek admitted that he enjoyed listening to you speak in your native language. You, of course, blushed, not used to anyone at home taking any notice of your language

- and, even before the two of you were together, Derek would secretly research things about your home country. Your language, food, culture, and characteristics of the people of your country

- some stereotypes would be very true and Derek noted them down

- the flowers that women liked, the independence yet the need for affection

- ''You know that's, like, what every girl wants, right?'' Scott would tease him.

- ''She's different. Even if that applies to her,'' Derek would answer, still trying to get to know you better.

- when you'd show him some text messages with your friends or family, he'd note some of the words down in his head, some of your most-used phrases, and work with a dictionary in private to try to understand you

- and when Derek finally couldn't hold it together and started to get the feeling that you were flirting with him in secret, he asked you out. IN YOUR NATIVE LANGUAGE.

- just a simple ''I have feelings for you'' which was, of course, translated with the help of a dictionary. That, of course, drove you nuts

- as you would spend time together, Derek would listen to you talking about your adventures back home, show interest in the music you listened to in your native language

- one day, when the two of you were in his car, he put on the song, trying to sing along, having tried to memorize the lyrics

- although the song wasn't even your favorite, you cherished his determination and sang along with him, probably scaring the people of Beacon Hills

- you taught him several phrases and curse words, which he had actually suggested he'd learn

- ''I just have to know what to say to guys who want to hit on you when we visit home,'' Derek would confidently say.

- ''Hit on me?''

- ''Well, oh- OH! Flirt,'' Derek would laugh at your confusion.

- which happened sometimes. Both for you and him. You'd find some of the teenage phrases they talked in strange and he'd eye you whenever you talked extraordinarily fast with your friends on the phone

- speaking of friends, they'd facetime you and Derek would proudly introduce himself in your language, making your friends chuckle

- ''Did I say something wrong?'' Derek would ask, seeing the reaction of your friends

- ''Yeah, you just told them that you were horny, Derek,'' you'd explain because sometimes your language could be tricky

- and your parents adored him

- even though he was too shy to speak in your tongue, you all communicated in English, but Derek was proud to understand some of the phrases exchanged occasionally

- except for his little nickname

- ''Wolfie''

- and he would panic, thinking that your parents had found out somehow, so you'd have to explain that it was normal to give animal nicknames in your culture

- ''You know, love, he just looks like a big wolf constantly by your side,'' your parents would say, approving of him.

- Derek wished to try to read some of the books on your shelf whenever the two of you stayed at your place. At least half of the books on your shelves were in English, but enough was left for him to try to read out loud

- and it calmed you down a lot, listening to him butcher every third word. But you'd appreciate him for trying so much

- Derek and you talked a lot about going to visit your old home

- and when the time finally allowed, you did

- you showed Derek your neighborhood, the best places to get food, where your previously-talked about adventures had taken place

- when a Beacon Hills party took place and a guy tried to, so-called, hit on you, Derek would instinctively insult him in your language

- ''Your grammar was a bit off, but I love the spirit,'' you would tell him, kissing his cheek and laughing
