Fury never liked it when he was confronted with things he was hiding. Taylor already learned that long ago as an employee, but now that she was about to step through the doors of the lab where Banner, her brother, and Fury were talking, she was unsure whether she should be proud of herself for calling him out for making a weapon from the Tesseract or not.

Steve opened a few more cases from different shelves, each containing different kinds of weapons, and he connected the dots quickly, while Taylor was off to the side, watching him growing more and more annoyed. The gun in her hands felt light yet heavy with uncommitted sins, and she didn't like that nauseating feeling.

Slamming the gun onto one of the metal tables, the thud echoed in the room, hurting Taylor's ears as she stood next to Steve. He was visibly angry, so she just sat on top of one of the tables, ready to watch everything unfold. Tony and Banner stopped everything they were doing to stare at the weapon on the table, and Fury whipped his head toward the sound too. He appeared to be nervous, caught red-handed.

"What is phase two?" Tony stared at his screen calmly.

"Phase two is 'S.H.I.E.L.D. uses the cube to make weapons'," Steve responded loudly, stepping closer to them. Banner looked confused, looking at Fury, waiting for clarification. Steve looked at Tony. "Sorry, the computer was moving a little slow for me."

"I can't decide if everything's a little slow for you or the opposite," Taylor mumbled to herself, knowing things were too serious to get an answer out of anyone.

"Rogers, we gathered everything related to the Tesseract, this does not mean-" Fury began explaining himself, but Taylor didn't believe a word. Then Tony flipped his screen toward him to prove him wrong.

"I'm sorry, Nick. What were you lying?" He questioned smugly, to which Fury just stared at him, unsure.

"I was wrong, director, the world hasn't changed a bit," Steve said with distaste.

"It is always wrong to assume it does." Taylor sighed to herself, crossing her arms over her chest. Tony went to stand next to her.

"What were you doing with Captain Sparkle?" He whispered to his sister, and she suppressed a snort.

"Why sparkle?"

"That was the word that came to mind after star. Because, you know, he has a star on his super pajama suit," Tony explained half-heartedly, and Taylor snickered. The others were talking about important things, but she didn't bother to pay attention yet again.

"I went to dig around in S.H.I.E.L.D.'s stuff, and Steve was there to do the same. We found all kinds of weapons, it was kinda fun."

"Did you make up?"

"I mean, it's not awkward anymore." She shrugged. "I suppose-"

"Care to share what you've been muttering about?" Fury half-shouted at the siblings, interrupting Taylor. She huffed, while Tony just swung his arm around her shoulders. "You forced our hand, we had to come up with something!" Fury continued on with what he was saying, directing it to Thor.

"Nuclear deterrent," Tony spoke up, looking at the screen. "'Cause that always calms everything right down."

"Remind me again how you made your fortune Stark?" Fury shot back.

"Remind me again how my brother was willing to change while a certain someone decides to make the same mistake other people have been for centuries?" Taylor asked Fury bitterly, getting off the table and onto her feet. Tony pulled her back from taking steps toward him.

"I'm sure if he still made weapons, Stark would be neck deep-" Steve went on.

"Now pardon me, have you forgotten who took you in when you had barely anywhere to go?" Taylor asked incredulously. "A Stark."
