Taylor was standing at the bottom of a ladder, making sure it was staying put while Maddy was on top of it, placing a big, sparkly star on top of the Christmas tree. Steve was currently sitting on the armchair close to them, watching closely as the small girl tried to shuffle the ornament onto the tree's pointy top. Taylor turned her attention to him as Tony entered the room, holding two mugs of coffee in his hands. He slowly walked over to Steve, staring at his daughter from there.

"Brought you some coffee capsicle," Tony murmured, pushing the mug into his hands. Steve looked at him leaving in confusion, then sniffed the coffee before taking a sip of it. A disgusted look instantly appeared on his face.

"Jeez Steve, stop grimacing," Taylor laughed, helping her niece off the ladder. Walking over to Steve, she took the mug from his hands. "I'll drink it, okay? I'll make you and Maddy some hot chocolate instead, how about that?"

"I feel like a child," Steve shook his head as he watched Taylor drink the coffee. She smirked. "You literally placed me on the same level as Maddy just now."

"I mean not everyone has to like coffee," Taylor leaned toward Steve, having one hand on the armrest. "And not everyone has to suck it up and drink a cup of coffee either."

"Are you saying that I'm incapable of drinking a cup of coffee?"

"I'm saying you're incapable of drinking a cup of coffee," She grinned teasingly, finding it funny how the super soldier couldn't get past the bitter taste.

"Are you making me hot chocolate or are you going to be all up in Stevie's face all day?" Maddy spoke up next to them, her hands crossed, her eyes narrowed. She clearly didn't like seeing her aunt get on so well with someone else, and the thought caused her aunt to chuckle.

"Yeah, yeah, little brat. I'm going," Taylor smiled, ruffling her hair as she passed by, earning another glare.

Tony was already in the kitchen when Taylor arrived, sitting on the bar stool and typing away on a tablet. She didn't say anything, only opened the fridge to get the milk, then set it down in front of him, along with a bar of chocolate. Tony looked up from the tablet, watching her break it into pieces.

"I'm holding a New Year's Eve party soon," He began. "It's gonna be pretty big, I've already sent out most of the invitations with Pepper."

"Right. Is she coming here today?" Taylor inquired mindlessly.

"Yeah, she's obviously invited if your guy can be here too," He mumbled, causing his sister to scoff. Steve wasn't her guy.

"Let's just talk about the party." She rolled her eyes dramatically. "Can I invite my friends? I want them to be here."

"Sure. Who?"

"Lily and Deb. Only those two." She shrugged. "And of course, Steve is staying here with us until the first of January anyway."

"I hope they are fairly reliable, I don't want things to be a mess, some important people will be here," Tony stated, causing Taylor to cock an eyebrow.

"You're the one who's going to make it a mess Tony." She shook her head. "You always do that."

"This time, I won't," He declared. "It's important for Pepper."

"Right."

"Yes. So, unless something happens, I'm not getting fully wasted anytime soon," He said strongly, so Taylor just put up her hands in defeat.

"Okay, okay big shot," She smirked, not believing a word of his. She knew he was probably going to get drunk the first chance he gets. "Rarely see you this serious you know."
