The date Steve prepared for Taylor went wrong in all the ways it could. He wanted it to be at his place since it had been a while since she had been there, so she agreed to it, and then he kept his plans a secret and even failed to inform her about what she should wear. That wasn't such a big problem though, because she wore a loose black dress that barely covered anything. The dress had a purpose.

So, Taylor stood in a long coat at Steve's apartment, and he let her in, giving her a short kiss before taking it off her. She didn't miss the way he practically devoured her with his eyes then and there, but obviously, he was too much of a gentleman, so he just told her how beautiful she was, then took her to the living room, where he set up a little dinner.

It wasn't anything fancy since he burnt the meal he wanted to prepare but Taylor appreciated it greatly, even though Steve wasn't much of a cook. Everything was going fine until then, but after they settled onto the small couch, the lights suddenly went out.

"What the hell?" Taylor mumbled, instinctively grabbing Steve's hand. He chuckled, interlacing their fingers instantly.

"Are you scared?" He asked teasingly, his voice lowering to a whisper. Taylor felt her stomach drop as he leaned closer, her heartbeat picking up as she realized they were all alone in a dark room.

"No, obviously not," Taylor huffed, but she shuffled closer to him anyway.

"Then why are you coming closer?" He hummed playfully and snaked a hand around her waist.

"There could be many reasons for that," She ran her hands down his chest slowly, settling on his belt. She heard his breath hitch, causing her to grin. "But first, do you have some candles?"

Steve let out a laugh, then pushed her off as she was halfway on his lap already, standing up to find some candles. Taylor stayed on the couch alone, pulling her feet up to her chest as she waited for Steve to come back. She didn't hear him at all, so she just made herself as small as possible. Ever since the battle, she wasn't a big fan of the dark, and she still had a few nightmares about it occasionally.

"Boo!" Steve's voice suddenly rang out behind her, making her shriek and whip around, automatically raising her fist into the air. She didn't strike though, she never did.

She heard his chuckle before he lit a candle and set it down on the table beside them, shaking the lit match between his fingers, making it go out. Taylor narrowed her eyes at him and crossed her arms over her chest as he sat down on the couch again. He smiled as he tried to pull her closer, but she was stubborn, trying to pull away from him, but failing as he swept her up and got her on his lap. Judging by the widening of his eyes, it was accidental, so Taylor simply smirked, making herself more comfortable.

Steve really didn't know his own strength, it was becoming more and more apparent as time passed. Each time he lifted her, it was like he was lifting a single feather, something which surprised Taylor all the time, but then again, she found it extremely hot. Steve always threw her on the bed with ease, or rather, lift her up onto the counter, which came in handy.

"You are even more beautiful in the candlelight," Steve murmured, breaking the silence as he tucked a strand of hair chocolate brown hair behind her ear.

"And you are even clingier in the dark," She grinned back, teasing him. "I love how your face is so red."

"It takes all my self-control not to take you to the bedroom right now," He smiled innocently, making Taylor gape as her heart sped up. He won this round for sure. He had been winning nowadays a lot more, she was successfully rubbing off on him.

"Why are you holding back then?" Taylor leaned beside his ear, keeping her voice low as she slurred the words to him.

She felt his grip tighten around her waist, then a moment later, he flipped her on the couch, landing her underneath him smoothly. She gasped as the air was knocked out of her lungs, staring up at him with sparkling eyes. Until the candle went out on the table, landing them in complete darkness again. She heard his whine and couldn't help but chuckle, patting his chest as he forced himself to stand again.

He found the matches quickly, picking one up and lighting the candle with it, but he was growing frustrated. Taylor could see it by the way his eyebrows were drawn together slightly, his lips set in a thin line as he fiddled with the matches. She kept her laugh back as he turned around again, coming back to the couch.

This time, his hands were quickly under her dress, pushing it up on her waist as he kissed her slowly, his warm hands causing goosebumps all over her body. She whined against his lips as his fingers fiddled with her underwear, feeling his smirk as he pressed his lips against hers again.

Before anything else could have happened, however, the doorbell rang, making both of them freeze. Steve groaned as he straightened up again, pulling her dress down before making his way over to the door. He pulled out his shirt from his pants, leaving them out and thus covering his crotch, mentally readying himself to open the door.

Taylor tried not to snicker as she sat up on the couch, almost laughing out loud upon seeing the old lady at the door, asking Steve whether he had any electricity in his apartment. She was holding a little candle in her hands as she peered inside, probably noticing Taylor besides the candlelight with her face flushed and her dress crumpled.

Safe to say the old lady didn't bother him for long, leaving after a few minutes of aimless talking about alerting the landlord. Steve shut the door with a sigh, locking it as he turned to face Taylor again, a tired smile plastered on his lips. She giggled, pushing herself into a standing position and grabbing the candle from the table with a suggestive look.

"How about we take this to the bedroom," She began, walking over to Steve to grab his hand. She gently tugged him toward his bedroom door. "And ignore any more doorbells and knocks?"

"Sounds perfect," He sighed in return, interlacing his fingers with hers as she pushed the door open.

"Now, Captain America, would you do the honor of taking me to that bed?"
