Hey. I know it's been a while. I'm gonna be honest, I forgot about you. After the farm, we were always moving. But something happened. Something good. Finally. We found a prison... Or grand palace as Kai and Devin would call it.

𝐁𝐄𝐓𝐇, 𝐃𝐀𝐑𝐘𝐋 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐃𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐍 ran from walkers in the woods. Devin had long since forgotten about her backpack. She left it behind hours ago. She grabbed all the important stuff from it that would fit in her pockets before she and her two companions were forced to run again from the dead.

Her bat though, she had that practically glued to her right hand as she ran.

Daddy thinks that we can make it into a home. He says we can grow crops in the field, find pigs and chickens, stop running, stop scavenging. Lori's baby is just about due. She'll need a safe place when it comes.

A walker cut Beth off and she tried to shoot it but her gun clicked. Daryl quickly came to the rescue though. He sent and arrow through it's head.

Devin quickly bashed a different walker's head in with her bat. Daryl waved for the two eighteen year olds to run as he grabbed his arrow before following them.

The rest of us, we just need a safe place to be.

Beth and Devin ran out of the woods Daryl right behind them.

I woke up in my own bed yesterday. My own bed, in my own room that I share with Dev. But I've been keeping my backpack. Keeping my gun close. I've been afraid to get my hopes up thinking we can stay here.”

The three ran through a field with high weeds.

The thing is, I've been starting to get afraid that it's easier just to be afraid. But this morning Daddy said something. If you don't have hope, what's the point of living?

The three fell to the ground exhausted. Devin took big deep breaths. It was bad enough she already had asthma but even if she didn't all the running they just did would still put a hurting on her.

So I unpacked my bag and I found you so I'm gonna start writing in you again. And I'm gonna write this down now because you should write down wishes to make them come true. We can live here. We can live here for the rest of our lives.

𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐍𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓, Devin sat beside Beth in front of a fire Daryl had started. The Dixon man sat on the other side of the fire staring down at it. "We should do something." Beth suddenly said and Devin glanced over at her and tilted her head.

Daryl just continued to stare at the fire. "We should do something." Beth repeated more firmly this time.

Daryl didn't even acknowledge Beth. He just stared at the fire. "She's right." Devin muttered pulling her legs to her chest.

Daryl finally glanced at the two. "We aren't the only survivors. We can't be. Rick, Michonne, Javi, they could be out here. I'm almost certain I saw Kai get out. Maggie and Glenn could have made it out of A block. They could've." Beth explained.

It was like talking to a wall. Daryl didn't say a thing, he hardly even looked at the two girls. Beth rolled her eyes and stood up.

"You're a tracker. You can track. Come on. The sun will be up soon. If we head out now, we can—" Beth paused seeing that she was getting no where with Daryl. "Fine. If you won't track, I will."

Beth grabbed her knife and looked down at Devin. "You coming?" She asked, tilting her head.

Devin sighed standing up. She bent over and picked up her bat. The two started walking into the woods. Daryl looked in the direction the two went in. He thought for a second before standing up and putting the fire out and grabbed his crossbow. He then followed the girls.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐍𝐄𝐗𝐓 𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 Devin and Beth walked through the woods, Daryl wasn't too far behind them. He bent down and started to move around some leaves. Beth and Devin stopped and look over. They walked over behind him and looked over his shoulder at the ground.

"Could be Luke's. Or Molly's." Beth stated looking at the small foot prints.

"Could be Mika or Lizzie maybe." Devin added, glancing at Beth.

Beth nodded. "whoever they are it means they're alive." She said.

"No. This means they were alive four or five hours ago." Daryl shook his head.

"They're alive." Beth sternly said giving Daryl a hard look. She then walked off.

Devin looked at Daryl and crossed her arms. "Get whatever stick that's up your ass out of it because you're being dick and I'm sick if it." She muttered before following Beth.

The three walked down a small trail. They come across some berries. "They picked up the pace right here." Daryl pointed. "Got out in a hurry. Things went bad."

"Wouldn't kill you to have a little faith." Beth said turning to pick some berries.

"Yeah, faith. Faith ain't done shit for us. Sure as hell didn't do nothing for your father." Daryl said and Beth looked back at him. She shook her head and goes back to the berries.

"Do you think about shit before you say it?" Devin asked, glaring at Daryl. The past two days he had been a very insufferable asshole in her opinion.

Daryl looked down like a kid that just got scolded for eating to many cookies before dinner. He shook his head before pulling out his bandana and walking over to Beth. He handed her the cloth to put the berries in he then walked away.

Devin waited for Beth before following him. The three come across some dead walkers in the woods.

"What?" Beth asked.

"That ain't Walker blood." Daryl said looking at some leaves covered in blood.

"The trail keeps going." Beth said nodding towards the trial. "They fought them off." She pointed out as she started to walk.

"No. Got Walker tracks all up and down here. At least a dozen of them." Daryl said.

There was a twig snap and a walker grabbed Beth from behind. She gasped trying to pull away. Devin was about to run over to her but Daryl ran over and grabbed the walker and tackled it to the ground.

The redhead was quick to run over to Daryl and start to bash the walkers head in. Once the walker was dead the three head out of the woods and reached the train track.

They came across three walkers eating and dead bodies were all around them. Daryl shot the three with his crossbow and the three of them head over to the dead bodies.

Beth begin to cry when she saw a small child's shoe covered in blood. Devin walked up beside her and put her own hand into the blonde's and gave it a gentle squeeze.

Daryl looked back at them and nodded for them to follow him. The two started after him, still hand in hand.
