Devin smiled rubbing Judith's cheek. "Hey, hon." She softly said and the young Grimes girl cooed.

Rick walked over to Carl. "Put it in at more of an angle."

"That's what she said." Kai said, laughing to himself.

Devin scoffed playfully, rolling her eyes. "Grow up."

Kai looked at her with a shit eating grin. "You grow up."

Carl's hat fell off and Rick bent over and picked it up. He hit off all the dirt. "Gonna have to get you a farming hat." He said and Carl laughed.

"There's a new sheriff in town." Rick said, tossing the hat onto Beth's head.

Devin and her laugh. "Looking good, cowgirl." Devin said with a big smile.

Beth nodded her head a little. "Thanks, Darlin'." The blonde said making her southern accent sound like it would if someone was trying to fake one.

All six of them laughed then Beth took the hat off and placed it on Devin's head. Devin smiled as she puffed out her chest and put her hands on her hip. "Somebody's poised the waterhole!"

Kai laughed "hey, Dev." Devin looked over at him and he cleared his throat. "You're my favorite deputy!"

End of flashback

𝐃𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐍'𝐒 𝐄𝐘𝐄𝐒 𝐅𝐋𝐔𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐍, and she blinked a few times to get used to the sun shining through the windshield of the car she seeked shelter in for the night was up bright and hurting her eyes. She glanced around the car and a sigh left her nose. She was alone—for the first time ever Devin was alone in the scary new world—She reached forward and unlocked the door before climbing out. She grabbed her backpack and secured it over her shoulders and with that she started to walk again. No destination in mind.

She headed into the woods.—her first mistake of the morning—as she walked she propped her baseball bat against her shoulder, Wanting to be ready case any walkers snuck out.

She could hear the sound of running water as she walked further into the woods. She smiled a little when she sees it—A small creek—She walker over to it and pulled out her water bottle. She knows she'd have to boil it later
—Stopping was her second mistake of the morning—Suddenly she heared a twig snap.

Devin paused what she was doing and quickly looked around. After a few minutes she came to the conclusion that it was probably a rabbit or some other little critter. 'Cause if it was a walker it would've already stumbled into view.

She shrugged it off and went back to collecting water—Her third and final mistake of the morning— suddenly a pair of arms wrapped around her upper body and a hand went over her mouth.

Her blue eyes widened and she started thrashing around trying to get loose. She heared a deep chuckle beside her ear.

"Look here, Ladies we got ourselves a fighter." A deep voice boomed.
