their tracks when they heard a woman scream further on in the woods. Leo looked over at the Grimes boy. "That can't be Dev, right?" He asked, worry flashing through his eyes.Kai looked over at him. "Who else would it be? We've been following these tracks going on two days now."
Kai and Leo took off towards the scream after Leo hid Jackass and his carrier so they could go back for him.
They started to hear the creek water and people talking. Leo quickly pulled Kai behind a tree and put his hand over the boys mouth. Suddenly a man walked past the tree not noticing them.
Few seconds later Leo removed his hand from Kai's mouth. Kai let out a breath. "That was close. Thanks." He breathed put
Leo nodded "don't ment—" before Leo could finish he was cut off by another scream.
The two boys peered around the side of the tree trying to spot something. "There." Leo pointed when his brown eyes landed on the familiar redhead girl he and Kai had been looking for.
Kai's eyes widened when they land on her, tied to the tree being tortured. He pulled out his gun and Leo quickly grabbed his arm. "We don't have enough bullets and we don't know how many of them there are. We gotta find another way."
Kai stared at him and Devin let's out another scream. He looked down at the gun in his hands and sighed, slipping it back into his jeans. The two boys looked back towards the group of people and Devin.
After a few minutes Kai nodded. "I've gotta an idea." He said and Leo looked over at him. "But you have to go along with it."
Leo nodded for Kai to continued. The blond licked his lips and nodded towards the small group. "I'll lead 'em away. You get Dev and get far away from here. I'll find you once I loose them."
Leo's eyes widened and he shook his head. "Are you crazy?" He asked shocked.
Kai looked at him with a determined look in his eyes. "They'll kill her. I can't let that happen... We can't let it happen. This is how it's gotta be."
Leo closed his eyes and hesitantly nodded. "Fine." He said opening his eyes. "Just... Don't get yourself killed, please."
Kai smiled patting Leo's cheek. "Don't worry your pretty little head off." He then glanced back towards Devin and frowned. "Don't worry about me just worry about getting her somewhere safe." He told the young Williams man before running out from behind the tree. He started yelling to get the attention of the group.
As soon as Kai and the bad people were out of sight Leo quickly left the tree and ran over to Devin.
Devin's eyes widened. "Leo." She breathed out as he pulled out his knife.
Leo frowned seeing the shape Devin was in. She's had a bloody nose and it seemed she was bleeding a lot from her arm. "Shh... I'll get you outta here." He said, reaching up and he started to saw at the rope.
"No, no, you... You gotta go. These people they're crazy." Devin shook her head, trying to get Leo to just leave.
Leo finally got the rope cut and Devin almost collapsed to the ground but Leo quickly catches her. "Whoa, I gotcha." He softly muttered, helping Devin steady herself.
"How'd you find me?" She asked, walking with the help of Leo. They head over to her discarded stuff.
"Tracked you. Hell, I'm surprised we found you. Half the time it felt like we were walking around in circles." Leo said, grabbing Devin's bag and putting it on his back. He then grabbed her bat.
Devin took it from him. "We gotta get out of here before they come back." She said using her bat to help her walk.
Leo nodded. "I'll lead the way. We gotta get Jackass." He said leading Devin towards the way he and Kai had came from.
"Jackass? Javi's cat?" Devin asked looking over at Leo exhausted.
Leo nodded with a short chuckle. "Yeah. The cat."

𝐀 𝐅𝐄𝐖 𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐒 𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐑, after collecting Jackass, Leo and Devin went to the old building that Leo and Kai had spent the night in the night before.
Leo walked over to the couch that Devin was laying on. He got on his knees by her and pressed the back of his hand against her forehead.
"You've got a fever." He said, pulling his hand away from the girl. "Let me see your arm."
Devin looked away from him and shook her head. "No." She mumbled.
Leo sighed through his nose. "I gotta see what they did to you. Maybe I can help bring your fever down."
Devon scoffed. "forget it." She said being stubborn, something she was good at.
Leo huffed, standing up. "I'll boil some water and look in my bag to see if I got anything to brake the fever. But I'm gonna have to clean your wound or wounds so they don't get infected." He said walking away.
As he was boiling the water the front door opened and Kai ran in breathlessly. "Ran into some walkers. That's what took so long." He breathed out, placing his hands on his knees to catch his breath.
Devin looked over and quickly pushed herself off of the couch. She winced in pain when she hit her arm against the couch. She quickly brushed it off before running over to the blond boy.
Kai smiled relived to see her. The redhead threw her arms around his neck. Kai tightly hugged her back. Both of them refusing to let go. Devin laid her head on Kai's shoulder and one of Kai's hands made it's way up to the back of her head and he gently ran his fingers through her hair.
Leo looked over at the two with a smile growing on his face. Soon the two pull apart.
Kai looked at Devin with a happy twinkle in his eyes. "Are you okay?" He asked looking her up and down.
Devin nodded. "yeah... Yeah, I am now." She softly said, with a soft smile.
"No she's not. She's gotta fever!" Leo piped in and Devin shot him a glare.
Kai raised an eyebrow at her. "Fever?" He asked before touching her forehead. "God, you're burning up." He walked her back over to the couch and the both of them sat down.
"Will you show us your arm please?" Leo asked, walking over with the freshly boiled water.
Devin sighed. "one of them burned it. It's small. Not a big deal." She quietly said keeping her arm hidden.
"Your arm is covered in blood. A small burn doesn't do that." Leo said, crossing his arms.
Kai faced Devin and tilted his head. "It's okay. Just let us see."
Devin looked Kai in the eye. She took a deep breath and looked away. Slowly she held her arm out where the two boys could see.
Kai gently grabbed her wrist moving her arm where he could get a better look. His eyes widened and his heart dropped. He looks over at Leo. The same expression was on his face too. Both boys looked down at her arm again. Their eyes study the deep letters that were carved into her forearm. The letters spelled out the word Murderer.
Devin cleared her throat. "I'm fine." She mumbled, staring down at her lap.
