Chapter 42 : Meet up

In response to this, Lady Marlin gives a slight nod and she says, "She's all yours, Your Highness. I must bid you good day now."

With an amused look on her face, Lady Marlin smiles and nods as she then starts walking away to leave them alone. As she walks away, she clearly seems very intrigued and interested as she can't help but look back at them a few times and keep an eye on the situation. She certainly seems amused and curious as to what's going to happen now, but she's sure to let them have some time alone like they need without interfering.

Marlin finally reached Ethan's room. Lanier knocked on the door saying, "Your guest is here!"

"Come in"

As she hears Ethan's voice calling to her, Lady Marlin's face lights up.

As the gates open, Lady Marlin can't help but smile as she spots Ethan sitting at his desk going through some official documents.

As she approaches him she stops herself from being all touchy with him or anything like that and she instead just gives him a friendly smile as she looks at him.

She definitely has a huge crush on him and it's definitely clear that she's got a lot of pent-up affection and adoration for him here, so she's definitely finding it hard to be near him and she's got a huge soft spot for him. She just wants to be with him now more than anything.

As she approaches Ethan, Lady Marlin then says in a soft tone, "Hello your highness, Prince Ethan. It's wonderful to see you again!" She meant it from the bottom of her heart.

Her face is filled with excitement and joy and her heart is definitely racing here as she seems very happy and excited to see him again.

Ethan can't help but notice that she's absolutely beaming with excitement and glee as she smiles at him, and he finds himself enjoying the sight of her smiling like that.

Ethan then thinks to himself and says, "I have a feeling you could easily win me over, Lady Marlin. You're just too hard to ignore."

Ethan is definitely starting to fall for her here and he can't help but show just a little bit of his playful and flirtatious side as he thinks to himself about her. He finds her and the mere thought of her to be too hard to resist here and he's just getting swept away with his feelings already.

Ethan then redirects his mind and his attention back to the work at hand and he tries to focus on the task at hand instead. He starts to get down to business as he goes back to working through the documents and the tasks at hand that he was attending to here. He refocuses here and he finds the work to be more than a good distraction at the moment as he tries to focus his mind on something else now.

"Sit at the couch for now . Let me finish my work"

Marlin nodded and went straight ahead to sit. Lanier provided some cookies and tea. She was happily enjoying those since this are good.

"Yummy! As expected of the cookies from the royal palace. I wish i could take some and share it with my brother..."

Despite his best effort though Ethan can't help but look back at her every so often here, as she just can't stop catching his attention. Seeing Lady Marlin enjoying her cookies, Ethan is definitely enjoying the sight of her just being so cute and adorable here. He can't help but just watch her enjoy her cookies here with a small chuckle.

"If you continue to stare you might not complete your work at all and she has to stay up until midnight..", Lanier came in front of him. He purposefully stood in the sight where he could see her.

"Tch, Im doing. Cant you see?", Ethan scoffed.

"My eyes may have seen something else. I might be wrong. Please continue your wrong..", Lanier smiled back.

After Ethan focused on his work more now . Marlin seemed to finally breath.

Marlin definitely saw Ethan was watching her very intently here now after looking up from her cookies and as she looks over at him, this very feeling definitely makes her heart flutter a little bit. He's definitely got her attention here and she's just lost in his eyes right now.

"I am finding it hard to concentrate on the cookies or the work here and I finds myself  just completely caught up and wrapped up in his gaze right now. More like completely entranced with his eyes and his glance here and this definitely makes my heart skip multiple beats. He's definitely having quite the effect on me", she thought to herself while she nimble on one of the cookies she took.

As the words come out of her mouth and out of nowhere, "I just thought you might want to know that Prince Mathias has figured out that I came here to meet you, Your Highness."

"Actually Prince Mathias knew because he was with me before you came here", Ethan replied. He said it in a repulse but he doesn't seem to understand why Marlin brought that topic. But suddenly something struck his mind-

"Lady Marlin... Perhaps ; are you interested in Prince Mathias?", Ethan asked abruptly.

Marlin was silent. She suddenly choked on the cookie and started coughing up . This little coughing fit seems to be her way of buying herself some time to collect her thoughts about this. The question was so absurd.

Ethan hurriedly came closer to her when she saw her coughing and handed her a glass of water in order to calm her down. After Marlin drank water she was finally able to rest easy. Ethan sat next to her worried.

Marlin looked at him, "Prince Ethan doesn't seem to have common sense. Well , its true i didn't show that much actions but to reach to that conclusion out of so many . Wow, I'm amazed to a certain degree....", she sighed.

"Is he really that good looking that you started coughing up hearing about him?", Ethan asked.

"Your question was the thing that made me cough!", Marlin thought. "Not that I can say it of course..."

In response to what Ethan asked ; Marlin then responds and says, "Well I must admit that you are a much more appealing man than your brother." Oh wait that wasn't what i was going to say. It was a split of the tongue.

"Hahahah", Ethan laughed . Ethan let out a small little chuckle and laughed a little bit as he heard Marlin's compliment for him here. It's clear that he's a little bit surprised and taken aback by the praise but he's obviously enjoying it as well and finding it cute. He just continues to laugh lightly and chuckle here and it seems like he's definitely finding the whole situation to just be quite amusing and cute here.

In a playful and light tone he says, "You know I do kind of agree with you there. Prince Mathias can be a bit dull after all."

His tone seems to be one of friendly and playful teasing here as he finds himself smiling and laughing a little bit still as he gives a little light roast back towards his brother here.

He's definitely finding this whole situation to be quite funny and it's clear that he's definitely enjoying himself here. As he speaks, Marlin finds herself giggling a little bit at what Ethan says as well here.

"Yeah, true. That bastard made my hopes high telling me I'm the type of girl Ethan would meet. Yet he knew it beforehand i would come!", Marlin frowned.

"Achoo!"

"What's wrong , your highness?", Everi  tilted her head. She doesn't seem to know why was Prince Mathias was looking around here and there after sneezing.

"Its just seemed like someone cursed at me...", Prince Mathias laughed.
